i have never seen that or heard of a sensor melting that is crazy

that is your Tire pressure monitor sensor (tpms) there is 1 in ea wheel. a small indicator light will show up on your dash if 1 of your tires goes bellow min tire pressure.

it still works! i had a tire that kept losing pressure. the tire shop found a puncture and told me the tire must have been run to low. i thought bull, because it took a week and a half for the light to come on after i put sufficient air in it. i figured if it kept functioning over the month i kept putting air in. it would work after they fixed the tire. and it did.
so i would think toyota would be interested to know if a part of their cars was getting hot enough to melt.
