Default New Rims!! Not what you're expecting!!! RIMS ARE ON!!! PAGE 4!!!

UPDATE ON PAGE 2!! TEST FIT COMPLETED!!

Sooo, as some of you may know, I had ordered the XXR 527's in Dec. with the thought of receiving them in mid-January. Well, the 527's still haven't shipped and I'm done waiting. I have cancelled my order that would've cost me $550+ and I have already sold my Nankang tires for $330 getting back what I paid for the most part.

And I did some searching on craigslist and picked these gems up!

No, they aren't Centerlines...

Made in Japan FTW!

16''x9.5''!!

Authentic Enkei...

Hmmm...that's not a Toyota or Scion emblem...

Oh no he didn't!!

Idea of the future setup...

So yeah, I bought these for $100 cash money. I cannot stress at how immaculate these rims are for being over 25 years old. These where taken off a 85 Corvette Z51 with 11k miles on the odo. The only problem is that they are all 9.5'' wide, which I won't be able to run on the front, but I'm in the process of finding two of the same rims in 8.5'' that were on base model Corvette's.

So the specs will be as follows...16x8.5'' +32 F, 16x9.5'' +38 R. I will be running stock tires on this setup for a little stretch. I won't be running adapters, but will take them to get redrilled at the same place I had my BBS's done, so for a little under $200 + price of mounting and balancing tires, I will have a unique look and better ride quality than the 18's would've given me.

I'm thinking that I might run a small 5mm spacer in the front depending on how the rim/tire will look, but we shall see...

Anyways, enjoy the pics and share your opinions!

thumbs up for something different, or you could also look to see if a local shop can re-barrel them for you. We have people out here that will do that for you, so you can have it just the way you want, 8.5" or 9." Looks cool, I knew they were a sawblade type Corvertte wheel when I saw the backpad.

IDK how that would look redrilled, but am in for pics of it done though. Only time I would go for redrill of wheels is with a centercap covering the bolt holes.

The place I'm taking them to get re-drilled does awesome work. They do the drill and insert method of re-drilling...This is how my old BBS rims ended up...

There is plenty of room to work with on the Corvette wheels, the only thing that I'm really concerned about is the black paint, but that can always be repainted...

I've also already changed my mind on finding a set of 8.5'' wide rims for the front. Instead, I'll run all 4 9.5'' wide rims and add a 15mm spacer on the rear to even the look out. Doing some research online as well, 205/55/16 is not that extreme of a stretch since the sidewall runs so high, if my tires were 205/40's then the stretch would be too extreme. The reason I'm wanting to run the 9.5'' at all four is so that I can at least rotate my tires normally...

Hell, if Neek can run a 9'' wide +15 offset wheel in the front, I think I'll be able to run the 9.5'' +38...Hopefully it turns out great...I'm getting really excited about this

Trying to get this all done before the Import Alliance show in Atlanta on Apr. 17th... Thanks for the comments...

^^^ That's the look that I was picturing when I bought these wheels...Hopefully they will look good with a 55 high tire...

This is similar to what my tires/rim combo will look like...
16x9 w/ 205/55
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/i...0102010724.jpg

16x9.5 w/205/55, very close to what I'll look like...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...g/1230656z.jpg

My setup won't look as stretched as say a 205/40 will...like this...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...balling007.jpg

But yeah, I'll be ordering some Ichiba V2 15mm spacers here in the next week...anyone know of a place that sells em' cheap...besides FastScions.com?

Hopefully the 55 series' wont look too weak, If you're going to use your stock tires I guess you could always wait until you need some new tires to get some 45's at least...

you may wont to take a closer look at Neek's fenders too lol. Neek's car is sick but it has some major battle scars.

16x9.5 +38 will poke a full 1/2" up front, and be dead flush out back. You'll need to run a really heavy stretch up front to clear everything and not rub on your coilover drop.

Ehhh, they are just fenders...I've already rubbed the paint off when I was running 19's with STechs anyway, but there will def. be heavy rolling and pulling in the near future...

Hence I'll be going with a 205 tire right off the bat...I am planning on getting 15mm spacers for the rear, would that poke 15mm past flush then?

Yea, the rear poke and rub will then basically match the front poke and rub.

Sweet thanks!

Once I wear out my 205/55's I'll probably go with a 205/50 next, maybe a 205/45...but I would have to go a lil' bit lower then...
