Default O-Rings for TPMS sensor?

Hi all,

I have tried searching for this but I don't see it anywhere so my apologies if this has been discussed before. I went to a local tire shop today to get some pricing on new wheels and tires for my xB. When I asked if they could switch the TPMS sensors to the new wheels, they said I needed to purchase new o-rings for the sensors or the tires would always leak. Has anyone heard of the tire pressure sensors needing new o-rings to prevent any leaks? I have looked in a lot of threads and have never heard that.

Thanks ahead for any help

It is recommended to replace the O rings when removing the TPMS sensors from the wheel. You would probably be fine, but if it's cheap enough, I would rather do it now, than tear the set down and replace them later if you do get a leak.

If the wheels that the sensors came out of are almost brand new and this will be the 1st time that the sensors are removed, then no, the sensors o-rings don't need replacing. We never replace 'em at work...

Thanks for the reply all! I may replace them then because now that I know there is a possibility of leakage it probably will lol, that's my luck
