I finally narrowed down the springs that I want for my 08 CSM: Eibach Sportlines. They give you a really nice drop. 1.2"F, 2.2" Back. It's about a 2-finger wheel gap in the front and the back. So that's what I'd recommend for you.

kidd 02-13-2010 12:41 PM

these are some off brand 18x8.5 42 offset and nexen 225/40 tires.

yeah ive been looking at those actually.. decent price and a decent drop. what about quality?i mean they are a reputable brand but does anyone have any experience with them?

this is what ive been looking at http://www.fastscions.com/scion-xb-h...2008-2009.aspx

complete set up with springs, and front and rear sway. and a good price.

I've heard the quality is really good with the Eibachs.

Here's a better price for you on springs and sway kits:
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...lar=&brand=all

I thought about ordering the sways and springs for Eibach sportlines, but I didn't want to spend the dough, considering I'm putting some extra dough into wheels. I'll ride with springs for now, then I'll get a sway bar in the future.

Nice looking wheels on the RS 6.0, but stay away from curbs with those protruding spokes.:nails:

xtylerx 02-26-2010 11:24 AM

Yeah, I'm way paranoid with these. I always end up parking at least 3ft from the curb. :nails:

xbaholic 02-27-2010 03:25 AM

haha i do the same thing, and mine don't even protrude out at all!!

Those are no problem on your coilovers. To really dump them low, run 215/40-18 front tires and 235/40-18 rear. I'll be searching to find out which wheels you're looking at. :ponder:

Found them; still looking at Rays cheese graters, I see. :icon_biggrin:
Super nice price for some seriously nice wheels! (Better than the last set of SE37's that only had 5 holes.)

Bullwhip 03-02-2010 06:52 PM

Anyone see a problem with running 18x8 +33 offset?

TireRack.com recommends 215/45-18
tires (+40 to +45mm offset though), what do you folks think?

215/40-18 would be the size tires to run with +33 offset. Whether or not you will rub, or maybe need to roll your fenders, will depend on how low you are dropped.

Whew! I can finally post up pictures of my box now that I have some real wheels instead of the steelies!!

The wheels are Volante Torinos 18x7.5 wrapped in 235/40/18. The drop is Eibach Sportlines.

The pics from my Droid suck. They don't do it justice. It looks SO much cooler in person.

CIONIDE 03-05-2010 07:34 AM

I'm glad you like it, but you will soon find out how badly those Wanli tires suck. When you're ready to replace them, step down to 225/40-18 to avoid rubbing, but a better quality tire will handle better anyway.

pyroman131 03-05-2010 12:53 PM

@CIONIDE: They actually ride pretty decent. They still feel stockish. They came with the new wheels as part of a package, but I will wear those out before I get new tires. Rather, real tires. Lol

Hey lv08xb, you and 08bspxb are making me miss my DFs fo' sho'... The only negative thing I didn't like about the DFs were the spring rates--I thought they were too soft. Where are your new rims???

Loving all these new editions! Anyone with 18s and painted or TRD calipers? I've been thinking about doing something with mine, but not in yellow (it'd be too much). If they weren't detrimental, I'd love to have drilled and slotted rotors on my box.

Dark Gecko 03-11-2010 04:09 AM

Painting mine as soon as the weather gets a little warmer. I'll be posting pics when I do.

No it wouldn't, with your wheels, I think painting your calipers yellow would not only look great, I think it's mandatory to compliment what you're going for. You can stop your internal dialogue now, you're wrong, get over it. :ttth:

Yeah, but doesn't caliper paint fade and chip away?

This is a different car, but doesn't this look kind of cheap to you? Does everyone agree that I should paint my calipers yellow??!!

Dark Gecko 03-12-2010 04:07 AM

I say paint em yellow if you want to, its about what you like, screw everyone else. And if you do decide to paint em go with G2 Caliper paint, they gaurentee that the paint will NEVER chip or fade, they do have yellow amongst many other colors.. Complete kit around $50, thats what I got, again just waiting for better weather...
