Default Please Give Advice

I am 16 years old and am on a budget. Im getting my '09 xB next week and am wondering if rotas would be a good wheel to choose if I am on a budget. I only drive back and forth from work to school and my house. Please Help.

Congrat's on the new xB, what color?

Most people will tell you to stay away from Rota's. If you're on an ultra low budget & just want wheels, then you'll probably just stick with 16" wheels & swap the TPMS sensors and tires onto the new wheels. I included the links for 17's & 18's just in case.

Check out the current sale prices from Leo at Edge Racing, you can't beat them for budget, value and quality:

http://www.edgeracing.com/2008/Scion/xB/wheels/16/ (16" wheels that will accept the stock tires)
http://www.edgeracing.com/2008/Scion/xB/wheels/17/ (17" wheels that will need new 17" tires)
http://www.edgeracing.com/2008/Scion/xB/wheels/18/ (18" wheels that will need new 18" tires)

(2008 & 2009 xB's take the exact same wheels and tires.)
Keep posting and I'll help you out with wheel & tire size info once you have an idea of what you think you might like.

Cionide,

I haven't bought it yet but hopefully next week or the week after. Im going to get superwhite. Im not on an ultra low budget I just don't want to spend 2k for wheels .... yet haha. I have friends that run rotas and people tell me that if your just driving to school and work then they are just fine. I want to get 17" rota attacks and at JLB Motorsports the owner wants somewhere in the 700 dollar range for the wheels and tires mounted and balanced which isn't out of my budget. If you know of anything similar in design and in bronze and in my price range I would like to see what you have to suggest.

Thanks

Speedy Lite-5, pick your tires... but if you like these call in your order so that you can specify 225/45 tires instead of 215/45 that they normally package together with these wheels:

Thank you very much cionide for your response. They look similar to the style I am looking for. What I would really like to save up for is ssr type c's but that will hafta come later. I will definitely look into the wheels that you suggested. Also, considering im on a budget, what do you think about the trd lowering springs?

If you're looking for a mild drop, the TRD springs are fine, they're close to the same drop as the Tanabe NF210's.
TRD = 1"F/1.5"R
NF210 = 1"F/1.7"R
I went with the Tanabe's because they ride a little softer than the TRD's, but if you like pushing it in turns, the TRD's will probably handle a little better due to the added stiffness.

took off the wheels for winter and decided to sell them cause my gas mileage went down abit. springs rode really good, but when you put 200lbs. of work stuff then load it up with 3 more people, the ride gets a little rough with stock struts. i drive too much and every little bit helps. maybe down the road i might try out the tanabe nf210's and get another set of wheels, mostly likely 16's though. ive had my xb for about 6 months and have about 18k miles on it.
