Post your Rare/Custom/Expensive/High End Wheels
im taking this idea from the tC section cause i think it will step up the game of us fellow xB2 owners..
rules of the game:
wheels have to meet the title's criteria. the wheels are rare, custom, expensive or high-end wheels. examples of such: SSR, Volk/Rays, Work, Weds, Wald, BBS, AME, iForged, etc etc.
while i have no problems with these companies/manufacturers, please no knock-offs/reps. this means Rotas, Drag, Sportmax/XXR, Konig, etc etc.
if you like you may post specs. some like to reveal offsets some dont. if i can keep up with the thread ill try to have a list on this post.
yellowxhoodie edit:
Wheels NOT ALLOWED IN THIS THREAD
-motegi
-sportmaxx
-stern
-anything american racing (lolz)
-konig
-drag
-adr
-tsw
-kyowa
-r1
-5zigen (1 piece)
-enkei (some)
-tenzo
-axis
-rota
-if your wheels weren't 400+ a wheel don't post them.
ok thats all i have off the top of my head. some that are accepted by me and the rest of the community that are worthy for this thread, i will update as more are brought to my attention.
Wheels APPROVED FOR THIS THREAD
-hre

-360 forged
-jline
-momo (SOME)
NOTE: CUSTOM DOES NOT MEAN PAINTING IT MEANS A CUSTOM MADE WHEEL TO FIT YOUR CAR (I.E. MAKING YOUR OWN WHEEL BY CHOSING OFFSETS, WIDTH ETC... THIS WILL HAVE TO BE MULTI PIECE).
When you post pictures please give the following specifications

good point yellowxhoodie..
work vs-xx's
work equip voggards
nissan skyline r32 gtr's
my justification of the GTR's is that sure they are not expensive nor high-end but they are rare. similar with the Equips: not expensive when i bought them but they are mighty rare.
i know of a few people off the top of my head that should post ASAP.. :ough:: neek wolfburg2k1 d_unit :ough::

I guess it should be added that low end wheels that we're powdercoated, painted something other then what they're advertised shouldn't be on here either.
high end/custom(meaning custom ordered high end wheels)/rare.

now lets get this going in the right direction! lol
i know theres more, im rarely in the xB section but i can think of a few off the top of my head already.

if your wheels come with multiple bolt patterns...
THEY ARE NOT RARE!
rare wheels are usually made to order, hence come with ONE bolt pattern...the one you requested.
low end crappy wheels comes in multiple bolt patterns. (with the exception of high end ones that may have been re-drilled)

maybe this will help some more people.
Forging uses intense heat and pressure to transform a [solid} slug of alloy material into the final shape of a wheel. Forged aluminium is about 300 per cent stronger than cast aluminium, yet less material is needed to produce the same "cast alloy wheel", which results in a lighter product. Because of the basic limitations inherent in forging, most forged wheels are two or three piece units. In two-piece construction, a centre is forged and welded or bolted into a spun or stamped outer rim. In a three-piece wheel, the centre is bolted to an inner and an outer rim half. This stands as an advantage of being easily customisable for a variety of widths and offsets.
Casting is a relatively inexpensive way to produce a high-quality, fairly strong alloy wheel. There are two methods used. One, system is known as gravity casting... whereby the molten material is poured into a mold and allowed to cool. These molds are usually made by machining a piece of material on CNC machine equipments to produce a wheel that only requires minor finishing (like drilling or possibly trimming of some excess metal) to be considered complete. The other and better system used is the low pressure or negative pressure casting. Here instead of pouring the molten material into the mould, the molten alloy is drawn up into the mould using a high-pressure vacuum. This eliminates much of the trapped air found in gravity casting process, producing a stronger wheel that is less porous than a gravity-cast one.
Typically, high end wheels (ones that qualify for this thread) are forged, whereas the cheaper, knock off counterparts are cast. There are some exemptions though.
