Default questions on running 18X9 ET+30 all around

I just bought my Xb a few days ago and I'm looking to get some 18s... I am planning to lower the car with eibach progressive springs...I think it lowers about 1 inch in the front and about 2 inches in the back. I have a couple of questions:

1-what size of tires I should get to keep a nice smooth ride (one of the reason I am not going 19 or 20 inchers)?

2-will I have any issue with rubbing ( I think I should be OK with the rear. My concern will be for the front)?

I posted the question in clubxb.com and no one has responded for days... Please help. Any info provided will be appreciated.

18x9 +30 gonna stick way out past the fenders on the front... don't do it.

What wheels are you looking at? They've got to be available in some other sizes & offsets.

Sounds like you're looking at the Eibach Sportlines right? (1.2"F/2.2"R drop)

I am looking at the Rota Boost. or the g-force.. I don't want to go staggered because there is no way to rotate the tires... I can at least rotate front to back with same measurement all around. I'm not into the "lip" look...
I want all the wheels to fit flush without rubbing... do you or anyone here have any suggestions?

I don't know anything about Rota's quality or reputation, but according to their own website, the Boost & G-Force wheels don't come any larger than 17x8.

The widest wheel I've seen anybody run on the front w/o rubbing issues is 8.5" wide.

If you want the front & rear to both be flush with the fenders and allow rotation, you will need to add spacers to the rear since they sit back under the fenders a little further than the fronts.

I heard Rota is a good alternative to the expensive brand name wheels. I really don't want to spend a fortune on wheels and tire... They have good quality from what I heard.
here is the link to where I found them:

I saw the site, and apparently Rota makes wheels larger than they have on their own website, but I still wouldn't put 18x9 +30 on an xB.

What do you think about these Tenzo R DC-6 wheels? 18x8 +35 would be great, along with 235/40-18 tires. As mentioned above, you will need spacers to flush out the rears to match the fronts.

The Tenzo are very nice...But I'm not sure if it will have the "concave" face that I'm looking for though...

They do still have it, just not quite as much. RoboX has the same wheels, but in black with the red stripe.

That's a nice ride!! It seems like his rear wheels are not as flush as the front. Like you said the back wheels sits further in than the front. How big of spacers will I need for the back to make it flush?? 10mm or 15mm ??

The rear axle is offset a little bit toward the driver side. I never saw it person, but the one person that went perfectly flush all around had a 20mm spacer on the passenger side, and 15mm spacer on the driver side. Keep in mind that you will also need new wheel studs to accommodate the spacers. I suggest getting the wheels and tires on first, then dealing with the spacers and studs later. That way you can take some careful measurements of your exact set-up before buying or installing the spacers and studs.

Here is mine: 235/40R18, OFFSET: +40. The fronts rub on the wheel well if I go fast on big bump on freeways, just a little bit. Otherwise, it is totally OK usually. Springs are Tanabe's NF210.

yeah i went with 18x8 et45 with 225/40x18 tires. the front are as flushed as id want it to be as a daily driver and being slammed. my last 08 xb i ran 15mm (driver side) and 20mm (pass side) spacers in the rear and there pretty flushed as well. the only time i rubbed was with a full load of people in my car with 20mm spacers on both side. thats when i notice the driver side comes out about 5mm more then the pass side. i had my dad machine one down and no more rub. Just keep in mind that the bigger and wider you go with your wheels the loader your road noise. You will be able to put 18x8.5 with no rub if the offset is 45 with 225/40x18 tires. itll have more of a streched look to the tires.

Great info. I guess I'll have to keep searching for wheels and tires.
That's so strange that the rear wheels are not the same... I wonder if all of the xb2s are like that...

What about 18X8.5 +35 for the front and 18X9.5+35 for the rear... what's the tallest tires I can fit in there (front and rear) without rubbing issue... i am planning on lowering the car with Eibach sprins (or DF210...tanabe seems to be popular on this forum)
