Just ordered a set of D2s 17x8.5 25mm

I want to use them on my 215/45s. I searched on here for previous posts, but couldnt find much information.

Anyone running this setup?

Will it rub at stock height? How about at a 1.5 drop?

Is the tire stretch too much?

Anyone who can help or share pics, please do. I appreciate it!

 

25mm offset?? Man that's gonna stick out big time. Not sure if you'll be able to lower it even just 1.5" without rubbing issues. Especially with the fronts when you turn.

As Mike said that will stick out. Like past the fender. Should be like a 1/4" to 1/2" outside the fender. I have 19x8.5 40 offset with 235/35's and get a very slight rub occasionally hitting a bump while turning. Those 25 offset would rub even on stock height when you hit a bump going straight.

I hope you can change your order.

 

If you've got to have the 17x8.5, the Rota D2 is also available in +35 and +40 offets (+40 recommended so they won't stick out or have rubbing issues, and up the tires to 225/45 or even 235/45).

If you want to stay with the 215/45 tires you already have, then drop down to the 17x7.5 +35 D2.

Keep in mind that the stock wheels are 16"x6.5" with +45 offset, and the tires are 205/55x16".

BTW, the calculator won't even allow a 215 tire on a 8.5" wide rim.

 

I would stick with the et25 wheels, and go with a 205/50 tire for some stretch that you could probably get away with, might need a bit of fender massaging. People run 185 and 195 width tires on 8" wide wheels with no problems, even tho some tires stretch better than others (ziex 512 and T1r's are the best...)

The xB2 looks best slammed on wheels with some poke in my opinion... saw on on 16x8 et0 XXR's on stock tires recently, looked amazing. If he can run that then et25 wheels on 205's is a cakewalk.

A few other guys have done zero offset, like Pandanky on ClubXB.

 

I can see that the tire tread is under the fenders, but I personally don't like the look of the wheels sticking out past the fender lip, or the stretched tires.

It doesn't look bad, just not my cup of tea.

I'm glad the Scion brand is designed to be modified in such a personal way; otherwise we'd all be driving cars that look the same and have no character.

BTW, thanks for throwing the pics up, I was having serious doubts that a 0 offset wheel could be put a 2nd-Gen xB without the tread sticking way out past the fenders and having terrible rubbing problems.

That's one of the other ones always listed on ebay. Think it might be the grill badge from the new bB over there, maybe from an ist. I'll keep my thoughts on those to myself LOL.

 

I had a set of 25mm Centerlines. Could have got away with the rears but too much hang out up front so I bagged them. You need at least 35mm on the box!.
