soon to be xB owner...need some rim/tire advice....
so i am about to get a 2010 xB.....i am thinking of just getting the TRD 19 inch rims and tires offered through the dealer, so it looks fresh from day one......
anyone out there get these? any info/suggestions/criticism is welcomed....also, how many miles can i expect to get out of the rubber?

I have a 2008 xB, Classic Silver Metallic.
I elected not to buy my wheels from the dealership and went with the steelies. I wanted to take some time to really customize it. There is a huge market for options for the xB, and I think that once you start customizing it the way you want to, you can make the decision to have kick ___ wheels after. The wheels I chose was monumental for my customization as it really compliments the theme.
The way I see it, you can get away with so many wheel choices and save more money. I'm not really a big fan of the TRD 19's because they look too stock for me.
At the same time, 18's are still just about the same, but you get more sidewall to make your ride more comfortable.
Here's a pic of my setup just to show you how crazy I got with mine:
Just my $0.02. Good luck with your decision! Just make sure you drop that box!
I made it to 38k and was losing a bit of tread (I had 16's though, with more sidewall). I think you can reach 40k with no problems, so long as you don't drive like a bat out of hell.

I have 2 comments on your question:
1. I have the TRD 19"s. I really like them, but keep in mind that your ride is going to get stiffer with these wheels. The tires have a 35mm side wall. This will not flex much. You are going to feel the bumps.
2. They are are available on the web for far cheaper than what your dealer will charge you. If you buy the wheels/tires online I would estimate that you could easily save $500-$600 if not more.
Also, the search option is your friend. Please get acquainted with it

do not buy from the dealer....you need to be patient...no need to have a fresh ride from day... if you're willing to toss away $$ then go ahead....i'd suggest you buy w/o wheels and pick your set a month down the line....just look around...

I'm not trying to be a picky snot, I just don't want anybody to misunderstand how tire sizing works.

Everything is true except the part I put in bold. The 35 in 235/35-19 represents the aspect ratio of the sidewall height as compared to the cross-section of the tire; therefore, the sidewall height is 35% as tall, as the tire is wide.

Wait, aren't 19's actually 19 inches of sidewall!!!!???? The higher the number, the more comfortable the ride, right? Only problem is that once you get to 22's on your ride, you have to break apart your wheel wells a bit to make them fit better. I know a guy who has his bumpers held on by elastic that was cut out of stretchable pants for the sole purpose of rolling on 30's for his xB (he spent all the money on the 30-inch wheels and decided to cheapen out by using the elastic from pants). It actually looks kind of sweet, in a ghetto sort of way.

I'm looking at going 225/40 or a 215/45 on a 18.7.5 +45

how mine came from the dealership, wasnt going to take the wheels/tires until they said they would throw them in for $500.
I say if it doesnt hurt your pocket and makes you happy without any regrets then go for the wheels. That just me though.
