Stock tire upgrade,
I haven't heard any complaints about the Proxe 4's. I've read a lot of reviews on different tire sites and they were all good. I think the tread pattern on the Proxes 4 look better than the 912's. Just my opinion, I've never owned Falken tires..I've heard good things about them..
Got the 225/50R16 Proxes 4's on my car, finally. They ride great, handling is better., I give the tire a
rating. I won't even compare the stock Goodyears to the new Toyo's, they ride and handle like night and day over the stock goodyears.
You got to get them. They are so much better...

Hmmmmm... I've been considering the Falken 912's and the Proxes 4's. I don't particularly care to switch tires twice a year, so I may have to go Falken...
My Goodyears are about toast. Doesn't help that I corner like a madman.

Thanks Leo for your help in choosing. I liked the look of the treads on the Toyo better than the Falken. I think the Falkens are a very good choice also.
I just am a little one sided towards the Toyo's. I get "Free" Toyo Proxes S/T's from Toyo in CA for my 2001 Ford Lightning since they use my truck for their exhibit during NMRA races. I did pay for the ones I put on my xB.

Heres my problem, hopefully you or someone else can help me out here. I dont want to upgrade rims, i just need better tires. I am in PA and it rains and snows and the stock tires are useless. I drive on a lot of crappy roads and i was even thinking of trying to get some sort of truck type tire on the scion but i dont think my rims are wide enough.
so my main question is, can i just grab a pair of 225/50 r 16 tires and slap them onto my stock steelies? or do i need a wider rim?
thanks for your help guys
In an earlier thread..
www.rims-n-tires.com shows 6.5"-8.5" wide rims for 225 tires.
rockthebeef, which springs are you putting on?
I think any upgrade/performance tire would be better than the stock Goodyears. I'm ready to swap mine out at 10k. They still have quite alot of tread, but they don't handle worth a crap.
A set of BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 would be nice.

Anyone recommend something else?

Had Falkens on my Civic and loved them.
