Default Tire battle (new entries)

So im redoing this thread. why? because i got more money now.
I have a dilemma. IM getting new rims online. No biggie. but the tire/tpms issue is annoying me so id like some advice.

If i want to keep the tpms and transfer to my new rims thats an easy 100. and the places around here that can do that have limited selection with tires. (the dealer wants 65 a tire to do that so i said ____ that)

If i go without the tpms a place here can install
contiextremecontact 235-40-18s at 130 a tire mounted and blanced and all that.

I was also looking at maybe ordering the Nitto Neogen 7r seems like a decent tire, but only online can i get those into my rural area. looking at 128 a tire. 15 or so for mounting.

I said screw the falken 912- they just don't last and i have had and seen other people have too many issues with them not lasting.

So basically its a battle between the Nitto, the Conti, and possibly the Kumho ecta ASX. if i can get a decent price.

I have to decided do i keep the tmps or just go with out it and find a way to disable that light.

Any ideas and i have no idea why its all black and bold now when i type lol.

i second the kumho's. ive got them and they are a really good tire for the price. very good in the rain and pretty decent handling performance wise in the summer so far.

In this case the higher load rating just means the Kumhos are higher quality tires. Unless you carry a lot of weight in your car the load rating is basically irrelevant.

I have my oem rims/tires stacked in my basement. Nothing special is required.

Keep the tires away from sources of ozone, eg. electric motors and such. It'll degrade them real fast.

You might also consider General Exclaim UHPs too. Maybe not as good as the Conti's but certainly better than the Nittos or Kumhos for close to the same price.

I think the only reason he's not considering them is because they're directional. If you look at all the other tires he's considering, they're all non-directional and can be fully rotated.

FroZone, look at & consider the General Exclaim UHP's that ScionFred is talking about... they handle well, and have a good treadwear rating. As a summer tire, you don't need the full rotate ability since you will also have winter tires on your steelies for the bad NY upstate weather.

I have an extra set of TPMS sensors with a brand new rebuild kit I can sell you $140.00. That way you can keep your sensors in your current wheels and use them for winter tires.
