Default Tire Rack

I just ordered/received the MSW type 12's (18X and tires from Tire Rack. I put them on in the rain while it was dark... I was super excited . The next morning i noticed a pretty deep gouge by the rim lip and contacted my service rep (BJ) and notified him of the problem. I thought that because I didn't inspect the rims/tires and then drove on them that I was going to have to suck it up and call it a loss. He told me to send in pix and he'd see what he could do for me. I got a call from a customer service rep from there today and they are sending me a NEW tire/wheel ASAP and are going to have UPS pick up my old tire/wheel in 10 days... with no charge to me! I'd like to pass this on to everyone because this is not what i was expecting from ANY company. They exceeded my every expectation!! I WILL be ordering from them again. Just wanted to pass my praise!!!

no, no TPMS now. Its a tit bit anoying, but i wasn't going to pay another $377 for them and they might not have worked. i've noticed that if i park close enough to the old tires, that my TPMS light won't come on for about 45 min. so who knows how long the system takes to catch up to itself. i'll be ripping apart the dash and removing the LED in a few weeks along with putting B-QUIET throughout the car... so that will take care of the light and make the tunes sound better!!

I'm surprised that they are gonna replace it after you put it on the car and drove with it. Now if you had done this before installing on the car then I would expect a replacement. You are a lucky man.

Tire Rack is great. We order all our tires from them. They even give us a 10% discount since we order so many sets of race tires throughout the year.

I've used Tire Rack and was happy with the product and what I paid for it. But I was turned off of them after I tried to use the Road Hazard Warranty they offered me. With that warranty you have to pay for the new tire. Then after they interogated the guy who changed my tire (American Tire Co.) on the phone they finaly give me a claim number. From there I was supposed to make copies of receipts and fill out a little report of the damage, send it in to them, and wait about 4 weeks before I get the reimbursment check. Now I know the insurance is an outside company from Tire Rack but they should be able to have locations where you can go change your tire without having to come out the pocket first.

But I'm glad they had good customer service for you and that you'll get a new rim

This thread was started about getting a free replacement of a tire AND wheel after they were received, mounted on the xB, and driven on. Read from the first posting.

They sell tires and wheels, and will ship them mounted and balanced (though not a good idea if you plan on having your TPMS sensors swapped into the new wheels). The site also can show you what the wheels will look like on your car.
