Hey everyone,
I'm looking for some help. I've been scouring the internet the past few days trying to see if anyone has ever put bigger tires on their xB, and all I've seen is people going up by one aspect ratio. I'm looking at something a little more extreme.
I want to gear my ride a little more toward rallying/light offroad driving. As such, I have my eye on a set of 225/65-17 for when my current tires need replaced. I've done the math and that puts my overall diameter at about 28.5" compared to 205/50-17 right now which is at 25.1". My xB is lowered about 2-2.5" and I have no issues with rubbing, so I figure I should be okay if I go back to stock height and then fit these tires (which increase by about 1.7" in radius) and maybe roll my fenders a touch.
Has anyone done anything like this before? Or have any leads on slightly smaller mud terrains that fit a 17" wheel?
And yes, I know this vehicle is FWD and isn't a "rally car" or "offroad vehicle" but I wanna have some fun with it.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Awesome, thanks. I spoke with Steven a little bit and got some useful information. If anyone else has some experience with this or any input, I'd love to hear it.

Looks like I'll be getting some Sparco Terras in 16x7 +45 with 215/65-16 tires (I'm torn between Yamaha Geolandars and Maxxis Bravo Series, currently). This should give me about 2" more tire than stock. I'll be putting the stock suspension back on and doing measurements before I lock this down, but I'm pretty confident these will fit. I may get a lift later on using some RAV4 springs, but no one has confirmed 100% that it'll work. Haha. But thats a post for another day.
