Default Wheel/Tire size opinions w/ lowering!

I just picked up my 09 Xb and I'm going insane on choosing the right wheel size, tire size and offset along with which springs to use!

I originally wanted to go with 20's and DF's but have heard of ruubing quite often with this set-up. It won't be driven on a daily basis but when we do use this car, there will be my 2 kids, my wife and myself in the car.

I definetly wanted to go with the DF's so what about 19's?

I basically want to get the bigger wheel in there (19's 0r 20's) and the most drop possible........what has worked for your guys? Any pics?

BTW........I have done plenty of searching but no1 ever mentions how the car handles with quite a few people in their car with these set-ups. Thanks in advance! I have a week and a half to decide!

I have DF's with TRD's 19 x 8 with Toyo's 235/35. I have no rubbing, except for this one time trying to take a turn at 35 and downshifting slight rub no big deal, the handling is good on my car but i also do have TRD Sway/Strut bar. I think the DF's could be just a bit stiffer. Overall i love the ride. I will be adding TRD shocks hopefully it helps stiffen the ride on turns a bit more.

20's should fit with a 235/30R20 wrap. I've been wanting to go with 20's, but I'm not sure if I will. The price of tires is almost double to the 235/35R19 tires. It's ridiculous.

It all depends on the wheel width, tire size, and offset. If you can find some 20x8 +45 offset wheels that you like, and go with 225/30-20 tires, you will be fine with a DF drop.

You'll like these vegan, and VERY reasonably priced:

CIONIDE & VEGAN........thanks for the info. Not many 20x8 wheels that I know of. Pricing for the tires isn't my concern so that's no biggie.

I'm looking into the Five:AD S5:F's. They're 20x8.5 with a 45mm offset. I may even do a staggered fitment with 20x9.5's in the rear. I'm not sure if they'd rub, though...

I'm on the Hotchkis springs, BTW.

You know who to ask when it comes to these type of questions.

What color xB did you get, and what style/finish/color of wheels do you like?

I got a SW. I honestly fell in love with the Xb in this pic. It is on 20x8.5 TSW Nogaro's with 235/40's and on TRD springs from what I was told. This is the look I'm going for.

I've installed 2 sets of DF's and I think they'd probably be the wiser of the choices if you have to run 20's.
I know I'm still lower than my buddy on 18's with DF's.

Those wheels are available in 19x8 +40 that would work fine with 225/35 tires on a DF drop, and they're about $200 less per wheel than the 20's. They'll also ride better, and have less problems with potholes than 20's. You could also add 10mm spacers to the rears to flush them out like the fronts.
