Default Calling all xD owners need some input

For those that know of my Gen 1 xB know that I ROCK the Varad Vision LED lighting on my xB and promote for them with my "Toy xBox" Scion.

Well I am happy to announce that Varad Vision is looking for feedback on producing full replacement pieces for the Scion xD. You know the look here is my photochop of what we talked about something that those high-end Euro cars are sporting now….

So all you xD owners here is your chance to work with Varad Vision and get some direct replacement pieces designed for your Scion xD.

Nice look! Could those be set up as daytime running lights with automatic on and off--no switches or buttons to turn them on or off?

Saw a new Audi with led drls and REALLY liked the look. Would definately consider these.

Yes that is the main idea however not sure if the kit would include anything to setup a vehicle that does not have a daytime running light circuit. But that is what Varad is looking to hear from you guys so they can provide the best solution and product.

toy xbox,

Being able to have these wired so they operate automatically would be key for me.

What type of circuitry does it take for drls?

What would be the downside of having these wired through the ignition so that they are on all the time?

Are there any state-by-state legal issues with accessory lights on the front of a car?

Yeah they almost need to be daytime running lights and again I think that is the goal Varad has in mind

Actually all you need is an ignition source to trigger a relay and much like all the Varad product the LED kits come with a power supply and/or controller

No downside just IMO I would still like a manual override just for those times when anything that may draw the attention of the PO PO…

To my knowledge there is no current law in CA about daytime running lights as long as they are white and any additional visible lighting on the front you your car has to be either amber or white in color…. However I am sure there are others on here that know there state laws better then I do and I almost sure Varad has looked into it and I can find out more from them…

Keep it coming great feedback

It looks nice, I would be happy if you could implement this on the DAMD kit somehow

Don't look that good honestly. I'm still waiting for functional fog lights, not show lights.

I thought Varad was going out of business anyways.

Not to threadjack or anything, but I'm done modding my car. The money could be better spent on other more important things lol.

However, if a good set of actual foglights come out (not LED or what TRD Sparks offers), that would be my next purchase most likely.

Just got a update from Varad and they appreciate all the feedback and are moving forward with R&D on the product. I know the main focus was on the xB2 so let em know all you xD owners that you are interested just as much as the xB2 peeps

Key points are that it will be a DRL style system quality in fit, finish and visual impact are the goals.

Pricing is still a concern and IMO is going to be based on how complete the kit is. If it is a true replacement piece with a relay, harness and a manual override switch or just the lighting unit with universal connection.

So let em know if it is important to be a complete package or just the replacement piece with instructions on how to to install...

and thanks again for the feedback

well a harness would be very helpful...considering the xD has absolutely no accessory harness for fogs...(unless im COMPLETELY mistaken but after a lot of snooping around, i havent found it)

Yes, trdsparks has a pretty nice foglight kit that includes all the necessary parts...

As far as this LED kit I'm sitting on the fence. On one hand it would be nice to have DRLs, but on the other hand I'm leary about how this will look... I'm more into the VIP look than the blinged look, so I would have to see it on a car to actually judge...
