i really wanted to get the oem looking fog lights that optomize made but i called trdsparks and its discontinued so i just went on ebay and got a fog light kit i liked and made it work. with the oem fogs scion wanted you to just pop off one of the clips on the bottom bumper but its much easier to pull your bumper off. then you gotta pop the two black insert caps and i used a dremel to cut a hole in it then i screwed the fogs into the bumper it looks clean. sucks they barely make anything for this car. hope this helped good luck!

thats the kit i got, surprisingly good quality. you can just get any universal fog light kit you want and it'll work. its an easy install just takes time and patience with this car.

oo nice! so you made a hole on each of the panels? Or did you out the lights on the grill? And did you use the on/off switch it came with or connected w/ e.g. parking light?

I am planning to get square yellow foglights

yeah i took off the bumper cause its much easier to wire and install. popped out the fog light panels in the bumper and used a dremel to cut out the holes and make the screw holes in the bumper to screw the fogs into. i use the on/off switch i like the fact that i can turn the fogs on/off whenever i want same with the halos. im sure yellow fogs would look awesome def wanna see final product.

I see I see.

I notice what you ordered from ebay included relay and wire harnesses. Need both to install right?

Does it require to solder?

I am so sorry I have so many questions. I want to make sure I know what I will be doing. Want to learn from the experienced.

No problem I'm glad to help that's what where here for. Yes I used everything it came with. There's no need to solder (unless you want to) I just spliced the wires together

Quick question, what year is your scion xd? And does this fog light kit fot on a 2011 xd? Cuz since my car doesnt have an ooening for fog lights, its kinda hard(unless you screw something on the space where fog lights are supoust to go in).

mine is an 08. yes it fits on ANY model xd/scion/any car. yes our car has an opening for fog lights

pop off those covers (this is where you get hands on) cut out a hole to fit the fogs. ill put up pics this weekend of what i did. i just made the holes big enough for the back of the fogs/wires could fit through then i screwed them to the bumper.

only pic i had on my mac but ill put more up

very good job you did, homestretch...do you think fogs can be mounted in that bottom center grille? I've seen it done before but the fogs the guy had on there were meant for a Jeep, and they didn't quite fit. Any suggestions?

i love the body kit on the rs3's, i hate those fake vents on the sides, i want them to be functional...i also want that chrome grille insert, which is why i want to mount the fog lamps in the mid-bottom grille rather than in those two spots on the sides of the bumper.

Thanks man it was a lot of work but worth it! I think with a little modification you can make it work in there plus with the brackets the fogs are on you can angle them any way you need. At first I thought of even getting 2 hella off road fog lights and trying to mount them in the lower grill like a rally car lol

lol yeah you can totally do that, i'm actually surprised that i haven't seen the xD in rally races, suckers have great ground clearance. I guess I'm just worried about cutting into that grille. Hey I noticed a tC on campus the other day with built in lamps, do you think their bottom grilles will fit on an xD's? That would be awesome if it could!

We did one on my RS1 body kit...It was a lot of work but it's doable...Here is my thread: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=196634
