Default help. Driver side front splash guard came off.

I guess this would go in this category.

While I was driving on the freeway I heard a dragging noise and while I was pulling off to the side i saw the splash guard come off behind me. Was not about to run out in the middle of traffic to go get it haha.

when I checked what happened it seemed like some of the little clip things that were holding it on just broke off. not too sure how it happened.

I was just wondering how to approach this situation. Should I go to the dealer and just pay for a new one or is there a cheaper solution somehow. Does anyone know someone who is selling one for whatever reason?
I'm worried about drivin in water and my CAI getting wet.

Thanks

never go to the dealer. They will rape you with stuff that you get somewhere for cheaper....You just have to look.

As long as it's under the bumper to bumper warranty it wouldn't hurt to go to the dealer, and tell them that it came off while driving. They might say that it was caused from driver damage or some other reason why it wouldn't be covered under warranty, but see what they say. It doesn't cost anything to see if it is covered by warranty, but if it's not search else where for parts and do it yourself. Like patriciojp said the dealer will cost the most to have the work done.

yea I figured I'd try to see if it's possible to get it covered by the warranty.

If not maybe I'll just tape a trash bag around the wheel

not always true, depends on the deaeler's service department.

anyway, should be covered under the 3yr/36k mile warranty. same thing happened to me and my tc in september 2005. i got it covered, i even had to have some body work done because the splash guard started hitting the fender and chipped up the paint.

I had mine rip off on the right front side, it cost $110-ish for the dealer to get the parts needed and do the work needed.

It's not covered by warranty so you're going to have to shell out for it. Plus, I'd get it done by the dealer since if something goes wrong you can blame them

thanks.
my friend actually ended up knowing a guy who owns an auto body place and he got it for me at dealer price for about $65. I was very relieved. Ended up just putting it on myself and nothing is goin wrong at all with it.
