Orderd a set of bi-Xenon 8000K HIDs from XenPro via Amazon yesterday. Should be in about 1 week. Wish me luck. I'll post pics later.

 

How much did you pay for em?

 

The list price was $520.00 which was reduced to $175. Not exactly sure why. After S&H, it was $185.

does anyone know how theese compare to the hid mobile ? cause the hid mobiles are 170 shipped to your door.

 

i upgraded from the lights that came with the car to Philips Crystal Vision Ultra which was a "decent" upgrade. i have high hopes for these HID lights.

 

I use mobileHID.COM on both of my xDs and love them!

so here is my dilema - i installed the lights (was relatively easy) and everything worked great! The problem came when I tried to aim them. I thought there was too much glare and not enough "road light". It seemed like the light was going everywhere BUT the road. I could see a good 30 feet ahead of me on my right side - road signs lit up really well, but I couldn't see where I was going besides that - esp. in rain. Any suggestions?

 

time to retrofit HID projectors into your headlights...

 

I think you are fine. You just need proper aiming, take a look at this link, adjust your light. Report back when you have problem.

i gave it another shot and this time took off the tip end of the glare shield and things are better - there isn't as much light going up. the problem now, is i'm wondering if i should leave them the way they are (spotty black marks on the ground) or do a retrofit. I have NO IDEA how to go about doing a retrofit, though.

should i have gone with a 4300K instead?

 

6000K is the highest you should go without having to worry about losing too much light. 4300K/5000K would have been the best choice.

 

in light of that, is it worth going ahead and trying to retrofit projectors on there or just stick with halogens?

 

There's nothing better than retrofitting, except of course OEM HID, which isn't an option on Scions.
