Default Headers ?

Does anyone know FOR SURE if the Megan Racing headers for the Yaris will work for on an '09 XD? Megan racing said it hadn't been tested yet but that doesn't mean to me that they won't fit. I know the displacement is different on the two engines but some people i talked to seem to think they'll fit.

Default c'mon

High and mighty are the forum geeks. I meant headers as in multiple options, there's more than one. Aren't forums for "helping people". Do people really logon just to prove their auto knowledge superiority over people who are logging on to learn. That's why we're here right?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize Megan made different more than one header for the xD, or any other model for that matter.

I've just found custom one of stuff.
I've yet to find a place that makes one specific for the XD. Like everything else. I love the car but finding aftermarket performance parts is becoming a pain.

the xd has a 1.8l correct? if it does maybe if you find a corolla header aout there it might fit the engine but not the rest of the exhaust.

this is the only thing i could find

well, garage1217 did a complete overview of the xd's exhaust system starting with the header, and said that the stock header is actually a really good design and doesn't leave much to improve upon unless you really just want one for show purposes. the really restrictive part of the exhaust is further downstream where the piping diameter gets really narrow.

Good to know. I'll look at that review. I already have an appt. here in Denver to replace the small diameter part of the exhaust leading into my axle back.

I know it's probably expensive as heck, but what does the Lotus Elise have on it? It should bolt up to our engine, right? They put out 189 horses, so it's gotta breathe better than our "stock" version, right? It uses the 2ZZ-GE engine, by the way.

they have vvti-L, the "L" means it has lift, which is like toyota's version of honda's high lift v-tech engines.

now the lotus does use the last gen celica GT-S's engine, but the intake and exhaust systems are not made by toyota, and the plumbing of these items would probably not agree with the layout of the xd's engine compartment.

^i agree i just went on a lotus forum and doh, i remembered that they are a mid-engine breed.

With celis being front engine, would their plumbing play nice? has this been explored already?

Either way, use whatever you can off of a 1ZZ engine... I think the throttle body spacer will work also, and I'm gonna try that out in a month or so I hope. The headers from the 1ZZ should bolt right up....

Are you sure? Do you have a link or any other source of data to back up your claim? I ordered a xD exhaust gasket and a Corolla one. The appeared different to me. Enough different I didn't pursue a ZZ series engine header to modify.

Maybe the dealer got me the wrong gaskets?
