Premium, Mobil. They have carbon build up because I'm using Premium fuel, 97 octane is not recommended for the xD, the motor is not designed to handle that high of an octane, the engine simply can't burn the fuel, my motor is proof of that. Oddly enough, I never noticed a power loss, and it never ran poorly.

Why the heck are you using premium on a stock engine? Premium usually has a lower BTU content than regular... so it makes slightly less power and you get slightly less fuel economy. The difference is hard to measure, but why would you pay more to get less?

I can understand if you had high enough compression to call for a higher octane.

I have always used premium, not until tearing the xD's motor down have I witnessed the effects, which prompted me to look it up, and realize I should be using regular gas. I have/still use premium in my Nissan 240sx, with an SR swap, and just never broke of the habit when I started driving the xD...

As stated before, no worries, I have big plans for this motor.

I will probably be piecing together my own widebody kit, I am custom making the front fenders myself and then I'll probably pic up some standard ones for the rear 50mm wide I think...

LOL, ok

I am going to be running a set of Sportmax 962's 17x8 in the front 17x9 in the rear, tires are 225/45r17 fronts and 255/40r17 rears. I am not planning on dailying the 240 at all so I will be running these wheels all year long. This Saturday I am swapping the oil/coolant lines to the turbo with some steel braided ones I picked up, then I am reassembling the entire turbo set up, doing an oil change and then dropping the battery back in and starting it up for the first time in about a year. The weekend after will be for swapping the brakes, then the one after is for the full suspension package. after that I plan on letting it sit until warmer weather and then redoing the body/paint on it... so this time next year the 240 will be a full race spec that is ready to go.

Most likely. I was thinking of turning it into a roadster, so I may need the cage, regardless... only time will tell...

Oh and BTW, the xD parts have been released to me, so expect an update sometime next week :D

haha come back after being gone for a couple weeks and this is what i find. Looks like it could be interesting. like the 240 too. a good friend just sold his Motorex S13 Silvia a few months back, was a sad day, wish i had known he was planning to sell, because i'da bought it. i at least half know what it feels like to have 2 cars in pieces :p, I can't wait til the 280Z is back off of jack stands and i can put together the L28ET in my shop. need more time and money.

But anyway, when are you expecting to see these "mystery parts"

LOL, the parts should be in Monday or Tuesday, but we all know how shipping companies work, so I will be happy with them showing up sometime next week.
