Default xD Exhaust : TRD or PrecisionMuffler.com

I'm looking in to getting an exhaust for my 2008 xD
I know the TRD muffler would do nice, but I am also interested in the PrecisionMuffler.com exhaust.

Can somebody please tell me the advantages and disadvantages of both? I know there is a difference in the price, and I have also heard about the PrecisionMuffler.com exhaust rubbing against the stock bumper and hanging too low, but also having a deeper sound.

Can anybody please try and clear everything up for me?

Thanks

Difference is the TRD labeling and the canister. No real power gains. Comes down your preference of sound and looks mostly.
Other then that, you can use ur warranty on the TRD at any dealership if anything were to happen to the exhaust beyond ur control

one question, how can it both rub the bumper AND hang too low? regardless, this can be easily fixed by fabricating your own hangar. but do you think its worth it to do that and get a more noticeable sound? From what ive heard between the two, the precisionmuffler (magnaflow canister) is a more audible tone, still deep, but a little louder. The TRD has a slightly deeper tone, so it's not as noticeable at lower revs than the magnaflow would be.

what i meant was did one person claim to have BOTH problems, or did you notice that one person claimed it rubbed, another person claimed it hung too low? because if its the latter, then its most likely just a matter of how they installed it. from the pictures ive seen it looks as if the precision canister hangs exactly as our stock muffler does, just about 1.5" beneath the bumper from the top of the mufflers' tip. but thats just pictures...could be completely different in person. hope it helps though

I don't believe that it was the same single person that said both problems. But i honestly don't know, but you are saying that it wouldn't be that hard to get a custom mounting bracket if i did not like how the one that comes with it sits?

if it requires it, it wont be hard to just get one that will work out. you SHOULD be able to use the stock rubber attachment for the hangars though.

Got the precision muffler on now. It's axle back, magnaflow canister, and sounds really good.
Came with new hangers and fit on perfect, havn't had anything come loose yet, ive had it since christmas. And about my original question, it hangs perfect, no rubbing against the bumper, ill put a video and pics up if wanted.

Eventually i will follow up with that, but i did all the installation of this bolt on axle back by myself, im not sure if i could do a mid pipe, even with access to a lift, and i dont like paying people to do work to my baby, haha. Maybe if i can find somebody to help me do it

I guess you meant to say an Axleback, not a catback.

I don't think there is a bolt on catback option for the xD out there.

Just trying to clarify not to misled anyone.

oh that's pretty cool. he shuold be able to help you bend the pipe and measure where to cut into the resonator. are you planning on going through with it with him?
