Default Anyone install an overhead console themselves

Bought an overhead console on ebay. Looks good. A few issues:

1) No installation instructions included.
2) Headliner cutout template looks to be for xB or something other
3) A decorative insert is needed as, I assume, a different part number

Anyone been through this before?

TIA,
Ray

Default Yes it's the Toyota one

Yes - it had the Toyota logos all over the box.

It is just like this one:

Did your Japanese instructions at least have some pictures?

Did it come with the rectangular insert (white thing shown in the picture above)?

Thanks!!

Woah, have to cut in to the ceiling? Good thing I don't have a use for this thingy!

Mine is different. It looks like this one on the outside:

And it looks like this inside:

But it only has the double-tray door seen close up - there is not another one up by the dash like this xB console.

Looks like you could just screw in a second tray if you wanted to (and could find one!).

What's *REALLY* missing is the "add your favorite photo" window. Now that's a real bummer! LOL

I don't know if it is an "american" version or not. It came from a Toyota dealer in the US and had Japanese Toyota words stuff all over it.

With nothing more to it than that, I don't see me hacking up my interior

Doesn't seem of much use?

it has some cutting but once in it looks like it'll be a permanent fixture.
