Default Help with turning Seat Belt alarm off..

You know that annoying alarm that sounds after you've reached 12mph and haven't buckled your seat belt? anyone found out how to disable that?

I am a supporter of wearing seat belts, because they do save lives. I wear mine all the time. but on a recent road trip, it became really
annoying when you're driving down the highway, and the passenger needs to unbuckle to grab something from the back, and the alarm kicks in.

Shut up already!

I don’t even hear it anymore LMFAO!!! When I take my seatbelt off people ask me what’s that noise? Does it bother you? My response is what noise?

found it in the search.
how do i enable/disable the seatbelt reminder buzzer noise using the trip meter button? (i'll get around to testing this when i have nothing better to do)
to enable/disable that annoying seatbelt reminder buzzer, follow these steps using the trip meter button, but make sure you still buckle up!:
step 1
turn the key to the 'on' position. using the trip meter button, toggle the lcd until 'ODO' is displayed.
step 2
turn the key off. turn the key back to the 'on' position. within six seconds of doing so, press and hold the trip meter button for ten seconds. after ten seconds, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
step 3
the buzzer by default is set to on. once you've held the trip meter button for ten seconds and then buckled the driver's side seatbelt, the lcd will then disply 'b-OFF', telling you that the buzzer is now turned off. you can now let go of the trip meter button. if pressed again in this mode, you will set the buzzer back to on, 'b-ON'.
*note*
if the battery or combination meter is disconnected, you will have to follow the procedure again.

When i'm driving with my friends sometimes, they won't even remember to buckle up before that noise kicks in.
When it's disabled, someone might forget to buckle up, just keep it, it's not worth it.

well, i got farther than jjgeneral...
once i've set the mode to 'odo', then switch the key off, then back on holding down the mode button for ten seconds, i get a 's-on' or '5-on'...not a 'b-on'....then i can hit the mode button and get the 's-off'...but either way, 's-on' or 's-off' the seatbelt buzzer still beeps after the car hits 12mph....

i'm due for my 5000mile free oil change from the dealer...i'll inquire then and see if i can find out any info

LOL... I just had a funny thought...

Too bad you can't set it to go off at 88mph... Put a fake flux capacitor in there and tell people that its your time travel alarm!

S-ON/S-OFF toggles the speedometer/tach needles from spinning to the limits when you first start the car.

I tried this with every other trip computer setting, but found no other options (although I prefer the seat belt buzzers, because there's many stupid drivers and many more horror stories).

i dunno if anyone has said it or not, but if you look under the seat you have the watch'a ma'call it the has some plug things they look easy to unplug but i havnt unplugged mine yet because my gf says i need to wear it anyways. i just dont wanna unplug it because i dunno if it will have anything to do with the air bag deploying when some crazy person slams into me.

^^Yeah, just disabling the buzzer would be nice because the passenger seat censor tells the car if there is a person/child/or nothing in the seat and adjust whether to deploy the air bag in a crash, and I kinda like my friends. The alarm gets on my nerves as well because if I go pick up some beer and put my precious cargo in the seat next to me and then rest my knuckles in the seat while driving, it will start blinking and fussing. I thought about unplugging it as well, but I don't know if by default that the air bag will be on or off.

I know what you mean, when you have some package on the seat, it "wants" a seat belt deployed. I have gotten an old seat belt from a junk yard and cut off the belt part and have only the plug-in part. When I have something on the seat, I just plug in the "junkyard buckle" and no more harasment from the beeper. Just make sure the clip fits your car before you leave the place. Put it side-by-side with the original before you go sticking it in the latch, as it may not want to release if it's not the same type.

i took my xd into the dealer the other day for my free 5000 mile oil change and had them disable the passenger side alarm, and left the driver side one on. now my 'precious cargo' doesn't give off any annoying alarms!

the guide posted in here is for a tC, it will not work for the xD. to disable the beeping on the xD it has to be hooked up to a computer with ToyotaTalk installed on it. this is software that only dealers have. Only dealers can turn it off. also, dealers can NOT disable safety features, it is against the law to do so..... Greevedogg, which dealer did you go to so i can get it done and then talk to mgnt....

I'm in Orlando, FL. I went to Courtesy Toyota Scion of Winter Park. I had them disable the seat belt alarm
only on the passenger side. The indicator light still comes on. I don't think it is against the law to do that.
