hey guys, i'm new to here. i have a scion xd rs1.0. recently my blower dial (the dial closest to driver side) got stuck, it cant be turned completely to both ends. I had drop something into the center vent before. Im thinking it might be the problem. So I took the top panel (cd player panel) off. I noticed the dial is digitally controlling the door in the duct. So now im thinking of the dial itself is the problem, but I couldnt take the middle panel (where the dials are) off, to see how the dial work actually. anyone had taken the panel out before?? or any suggestion of what might be the possible problem?? i wish to get that damn dial working fully again. thanks.

 

pull on the panel hard and it will snap right out. dont be afraid, you wont break it.

 

yes, and the dials are actually cable driven. they have a "cable select" system in place. you'll see that when you get the panel off.

just be careful not to snap the tabs on the sides.
