ipod cable doesn't charge 4th gen ipods
Okay....the ipod cable won't charge my 4th gen. And its sucking my battery dead within hours. And my car adaptor for my 3rd gen doesn't work on my 4th gen. either Has anyone called Toyota to ask them for an updated ipod cable or and adaptor? I've seen some adaptors to "fix" it but its $30 ...total rip off and my stupid sales guy told me the cable would charge my ipod...but it does not.
I stupidly assumed that video from my ipod would play on the navi unit....but haven't been able to get it to do it. Can anyone tell me if theirs shows video from their ipod? Or is it the pin connection issue keeping it from doing it?
Thanks for whatever anyone can tell me!

Your gonna have to get that adapter. They aren't gonna make an updated cord. The new 2010 radios change the ipod adapter to a USB plug and they don't give you a cord anymore, you have to use the one that comes with the new ipod. Those will charge the new ipods, but the older ones will then be SOL without a dif adapter

the 4th gen nanos, itouch, and iphone/iphone3g had there charging pins moved around which is why they dont charge compared to the older ipods(thanks apple). because of this the entire industry had to adjust and switch all control to USB. my advice, pawnshop and older ipod, or invest in an aftermarket unit thats pretty much your only options
