Default Ipod Pioneer Radio Wont Allow For Choosing Song

i just purchased my 1st ipod and hooked it up to the factory ipod port in my 2008 xd. all i can do is go from one song to the next via my wheel control or radio control. and its always in shuffle. my ipod is not set in shuffle mode and i can not control anything from my ipod. i would like to be able to search for a song on my ipod and play at will what i want. any suggestions, idead?? thank you

1st... read your radio manual...

2nd... with the power off, push and hold the menu button, then select "ipod" on the menu, and select "direct control ON"

you're welcome

This is completely irrelevant at all to the topic, but don't you hate it when people don't write "iPod" correctly. My favorite is "I-Pod".

And I'm done. No thread jacking.

@krob: When I'm driving around in my box (I have a 08 xB), I prefer to control songs through the radio and through the steering wheels control. It's a little easier to work with while driving since I simply have it set to shuffle through all the songs. If you are concerned with shuffling through artists, pull out the iPod and then select the album, artist, etc. that you would like and then hook it back up to the stock factory cable and go from there. If not, refer to the manual for future reference, as there are a TON of features to learn in there that you would normally not understand by simply staring at the controls on the Pioneer interface.
