As promised, board diagram for xD LED Swap!
I will have a writeup soon, just thought I would post up the diagram so you guys know what to order for the cluster. Some area's of the cluster do not have LEDs from the factory,
I highlighted the color that they would be from the factory so in case you have LEDs in that specific area, then, you know what color they are Let me know if you have any questions!
One cool aspect of the xD cluster, it has dedicated leds to light the needles! So you can make vivid needle colors like mine that look more like lasers in person. VERY cool!
The quickest cheapest way to do the swap is to use RED leds for the gauge face leds. This makes the orange tach area RED. Any other color will make the tach dim as Toyota hosed us on the face color.
No worries, I am working on affordable gauge faces for the xD & other Scions.

Very cool garage! Thanks. I have an incidental question. When you had the multifunction apart did you notice if there is a straightforward way to modify the warning buzzer? What I'd like to do is put a trim pot on it so it isn't as loud. Another possibility: Could a person swap in a more melodious oscillator? (I don't want to kill it completely but, as a last hope, does that look doable?)

I had read somewhere that the alarm for seat belts, door open, lights on etc is integrated into the multifunction gauge package. Since you have taken them apart I thought maybe you would know more. Are we talking about the same alarm? If so is it actually in the engine bay or somewhere else in the dash? (Not in the gauge as I read.)

Looked over the board diag again, unless I am missing somthing, there is no buzzer on the gauge cluster circuit board. I think it is located in another location under dash. Will look into it further.

Excellent... seems easy enough to mod. Just a quick thought here, though... As far as the speedo/tach LEDs (the white ones) do you think there would be bleedover if you replaced the speedo ones with another color (say, blue) or left them white and put reds only under the tach side?
I would like to make my tach totally red, but I want to keep the speedo either white or blue... haven't decided what yet. I suppose you could just use foils as well... maybe red under the tach and blue under other stuff, while leaving the LEDs white. What do you think?
