Question Stock head unit: error 4 code

I had it randomly appear yesterday after normal usage of the USB/aux port (hooked up to a cell phone for mp3s). Meanwhile the AUX port worked fine.

I parked the car for a few hours, attempted to plug into the USB and the error code went away.

I have searched this site but only found that error mostly pertaining to CD read errors-people are claiming it's a bug with the stock head unit.

Can anyone chime in with similar experiences & information? I don't want to have to claim warranty work so soon and replace the head unit.

Thanks in advance.

ERROR 4: CD PLAYER OVERCURRENT (allow cd player to cool and try again)

IF dealer could duplicate your problem again an exchange unit will be ordered.( at least in my dealership)

Amazing: I need to let the CD player cool when it has never been in use.
I'm going to presume it was due to the heat yesterday (NY).

Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the post.

do you keep a cd "stored" in there? If so, it keeps spinning. Don't know why, but it does. That's where your heat is coming from.

The unit is has never played a single CD within the two weeks of ownership. I also have not seen the code repeat-so far.
Keep the information coming! Thanks.
