Default xD Window ArmRest

Does anyone else find the driver's door armrest to be too low for comfort? And how about the window sill? A little padding there wouldn't hurt.

I've been looking for after market products with no luck so far. The few window armrests I've seen look a little cheesy, imho. Or they fly out the window if you're not careful. :-)

FWIW and on a related note, I've owned the zeta (sp?) center console now for over a year and its held up great. I thought it seemed a little fragile when I first installed it but its good. Nice product.

Eh, Its been fine for me, I can manage my Takumi pose from initial d when driving I think this is more of an issue of the seats not being able to lower or raise height-wise :\

I gotcha. Thanks for the response. Yeah, height adjust would be killer, plus a telescoping wheel but .... base price ...? I dunno. Actually, for me, lowering the seat would probably make the sill seem too high. It already seems kinda high, imho. And hard. Did I mention hard? My poor boney lil' elbow! :-)

Yeah, a telescoping wheel is the one change I'd really like to make to the car. In the second-to-rearmost seat position, the steering wheel is a too far for comfort but my feet are to close and start hurting on a longer drive. On roadtrips I have to go back to the rearmost seat position, but that makes the steering wheel even farther away. If only it could come a little closer...

As far as the original subject, that's a good point, I hadn't considered adding some padding the windowsill to make it a little higher and more comfortable. That could help a lot.

I've got the Zeta armrest too, and it's too low for me. Much better than nothing, but I have to slouch down to rest my arm on it on a long drive. I think I'm going to be selling it and getting the Scion armrest instead. I understand it's a few inches higher up, and more sturdy to boot (though the Zeta doesn't feel uncomfortably flimsy in everyday use). I know the Scion one doesn't have storage space, but I don't use the center console storage space in the Zeta anyway -- we've already got two glove boxes, after all.

Hey, so that's a whole lot of pretty much unrelated rambling about ergonomics

Just ordered this:

http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/a...armrestler.htm

There's another product called a 'road rest' but the profile looks a lot higher.

I'll post when I get the thing.

TheCowGod I'll be willing to pick up your ZETA armrest if you do go the scion route. Just give me a ring

Edit: Oh, also I haven't had any problems with the window arm rest, I just hold the wheel from a lower point. But the seat KILLS me on road trips.

Get more meat on your arms then it wouldn't hurt as much!

I have no problem with my arm resting on the door at either point. Typically I have my elbow at the top of the door panel rather than on the true armrest.

Ewww... I'd rather rub my elbow raw on a solid door than have that thing in my car.

I have no problem resting my arm, but wish our cars had the telescoping steering wheel. If you adjust the seat to be comfortable steering, then the pedals are too close. And visa-versa. I have been able to find the happy medium regarding this and my complaint is not a big one. A center console armrest and telescoping steering wheel would be my 2 picks for an interior change.

The tC desperately needs a telescoping wheel as well. Would really help me in getting comfortable for autox.

Telescoping steering wheel, adjustable seat height, center armrest, and more control over the speed of the intermittant setting for the wipers. My four biggest wishes.
