Default '08 xD owners help!

Hello, I am guying an '08 xD and the current owner doesn't know if the vehicle has VSC and TRAC. it was still an option at this point so I was wondering if anyone out there knows how I can check to see if this vehicle has it installed? i.e. where is the on/off button located? Thanks

VSC and TRAC were not an option in '08

hmm... most of the literature that I'm finding says that it was an option in '08 and '09, becoming standard in '10. Are there any people out there with an '08 that can confirm having TRAC or VSC?

Thanks for the reply.

My 08 doesn't have vsc, but it was an option in 08. Later it became standard. If it doesn't have a button to turn it off or if you peel out in gravel/wet road/grass it should flash when it engages (from my understanding) should be pretty good hints.

I had the option to get it on my 08 I had and didn't get it. Then when I bought my 2010 it had it standard and I hate it. But the button on my 2010 is next to the ebrake so I assume it's probably in the same place

I have an 08. I bought mine with vsc as its the only add-on that can't be bought after you receive the car. There's a small button under the e-brake handle to momentarily turn off the vsc. If there's no button you won't have it.

if you do have it you can fully disable it by holding the button down for a few seconds while stopped.

Yes, VSC and TRAC were an option (I believe they were bundled together) in '08, mine has that option.
As others have said, look for the button under the parking brake - I think the button is labeled "TRAC", but it might just have a symbol of a car with squiggly lines behind it.

cobaltbravo, that's what I thought. Many thanks. I'm dealing with a person who is really nice but doesn't seem like a car person. When I asked for more information about the car she said it "has lots of stuff" and didn't know much beyond that. I think I just need to bight the bullet and drive out there to check it out. I just had to dbl check where the button was so I could confirm if it did have VSC or not.
