2008 xD Cracked axle
I just had my beloved xD 2008 produce a strange noise coming from the rear passenger wheel. Removed the wheel to see a crack at the weld of the axle and arm. Repair cost is forthcoming.

The rear beam is a cost well over $1,000. And then there is the labor. I’ll wait for the final quote, but I am hoping to find a buyer who is interested/able to fix it themselves. Thought I would ask at least to gauge interest.
I guess that depends where you shop. I'm seeing them online for $200+ all over the place. Shipping is a beast on something that bulky but there will definitely be a local option available if you search around. Install is relatively simple on that type of suspension, but those installs aren't for everyone. GLWS.
Recently got a xd with a rear right accident. And the whole wheel in and shock boot damage by the tire.
Got a used beam $250 (search car-part.com) and pick up off junk yard. (the part may be similar for prius and such)
The thing that take more time to do is the rear brake drum to remove the brake cable. The used beam come with all drum parts which is a good thing because it the accident also damage the hub)
And to align the whole unit to fit and lift as a whole also took a lot of try. A helping hand will speed up a lot. I did it by my own and took some time.

I have the same problem on my 2011. Sounds like it broke in the same place. Rusted through. I contacted Toyota but they said there is nothing they can do. I'm contacting the NTSB about this. This is a serious safety issue. I'm taking it to the local Toyota dealer to have them inspect it and make a report Monday.
If a crack has developed on a weld, it should be inspected and repaired by a qualified mechanic or auto repair shop. Depending on the severity of the crack and the extent of the damage, the cost of repair may vary. This may include welding the crack, replacing the axle or lever, and other parts depending on the extent of the damage. Well in your free time if you want to distract yourself, you can play in online casinos, for example, read here https://casinosanalyzer.com/online-casinos/punt.casino review on one cool casino, I think it is worth checking out. In situations like these, it is best to prioritise safety and make the necessary repairs to ensure your vehicle is in proper working order. Also, if you are unsure of the recommendations or repair costs provided by the first mechanic, it is best to get a second opinion.

I replaced the axle beam on my 2011 XD. I contacted Toyota and they said they haven't had any reports of the axles breaking. Here is what I've found. When an axle breaks and the car is out of warranty the dealers may do the repair for you but they do not make a report to send to Toyota. If something like this happens, the best thing to do is to file a report with the NTSB. If they start to see a trend then they may issue a notice for the manufacturer to have a recall. Once it's out of warranty the dealer doesn't notify Toyota of the repair.
