Default AC Question

Since the weather has been like 100 degrees the past week on and off I've been running my AC lot more.

But at times when I am sitting at a red light with the AC on, It seems like when the AC compressor kicks in, the motor sort of jerks. It does not do it a lot, but a few times here and there. Just wondering if when the AC comdensor or compressor kicks on it would make the car jerk a little. The RPM's jump and it seems like the car is going to die---it doesnt, but it seems like it going to.

anyone else having this issue?
is it normal?

Weather and humidity is mid 90's.. My AC works great, don't notice any
roughness or rpm dips from the AC as the ECM compensates for the extra load.. You might have a rough idle or something which would be more apparent with the AC load.. I would do the simple things first.. like fuel cleaner.. switch brands of gas..

I'm having the same exact problem with my 08 XD; I actually just posted a new thread.

Mine does do that thing at red lights where it seems like it's going to die... almost seems like it's going to "stall" even though it's automatic. Today at a red light the compressor actually stopped. Just the fan was running. When I started driving it came back on. WTF?

Default A/C

I actually took mine into the dealer and they had it for 2 days and found nothing.

The next day it did it again.

The day before I took it in it did it four times!!

I am convinced it has somthing to do with the A/C, maybe like when I come to a stop the car is in 3rd gear, and never downshifts into first. So when I take off the car sort of stalls and then shifts roughly into first gear and takes off?

has never done it with the A/C off.

Mine has done the same thing since it was new. ECM is just being slow about making idle changes when the A/C engages. I really wouldn't worry about it.

I knew someone who's car's A/C didn't blow cold unless his car was moving/engaged in gear. It might be an electrical problem. Not entirely sure though, but GL!
