Default Advice on how to get accessories thrown in..............:)

When we traded my wife's old car for her new xD, we were quoted a trade-in allowance., which incidentally was a fair one. Then...and only then, did we ask about full floor mats, bumper protector, etc. Told them we wanted the extras thrown in, or we were shopping down the road. When they realized we were serious, they threw them in to close the deal. I love bickering.

They accomplished this by increasing the amount for the trade-in. That way the dealer didn't have a problem with Toyota/Scion.

What accessories did you get thrown in? I got the floor mats without bickering.

Yes, I noticed you said that in another thread, part of the reason I posted this new thread on the subject.

Lets see. We got front & rear mats plus cargo mat and net, and bumper protector. He added the price of those options to our trade-in. I believe your dealer is being honest when he/she says they are not allowed to just 'throw them in.'

We PAID for auto tranny & stability control, and are still waiting on 16" alloys that they now say are due in November; we shall see.

Ooo the net and bumper protector. How well does the net work for you and how big does it expand? I'm wondering if I should get one because I don't want things rolling around in the back but when I have things in the back, its a lot (think food :D ).

Chels,

The net expands as far as you'd like- it's very elastic. But it's still practically useless for holding shopping bags upright. And isn't the price something like $60? I would never pay that for one. Buy a solid plastic crate at WalMart- it's probably better, and will save you 50 bucks to boot.

The bumper protector is only a few mils thick- not much protection really. Again, I would never have one if I had to pay for it.

Well the protector is still better than nothing if you put something on the bumper. Maybe I'll look in to getting a clear one when I get my clear bra done. Then maybe stick the protector on top of the lear one hehe. That would be cool.
