Anxiously waiting for my XD RS 1.0

I put my deposit down on my RS 1.0 xD on 6/17. The dealer cashed my check on 6/18, and what do I have on 7/12? Nothing! I keep hearing the same things, that they are stuck at the port, they have no control over delivery, etc. What really made me mad is I figured out Thursday that three other dealers in my area have one and they are just sitting on their lot! I don't understand why they would get there's and my dealer wouldn't have mine. Its very frustrating to say the least. Mine is suppose to arrive late tonight or tomorrow, so hopefully I will be picking it up on Monday. My instant gratification issues are really being tested!

That stinks! But your deposit is 100% refundable, so if you wanted to go and pick yours up from another dealer, you just have to ask your dealer for a refund and go and buy the xd from somewhere else.
I put my deposit down on my cc. Its just used to show that the car is officially holding for someone in the computer so that if the car shows up on the lot another sales person doesn't go and sell it to someone else.
T-minus 3.5hrs and counting down...... :D

I know, I almost considered doing that, but with my luck, I would get my deposit, go to the other dealers and then they would be all gone! I was really hoping my dealer would grovel a little and just do something extra for me, which it looks like they will do. We shall see. I know that my salesperson has no control over this stuff, he is just a peon like I am at my job :-) I just think it is odd that these other dealers in the area have theres and mine is still out in la la land.
Thankfully, I went over to the dealer close to my house and checked it out and it is well worth the wait! I still haven't been able to test drive any xD's, so it is still depends on that. From all the research I have done, I think I will love it. I test drove a Versa and wasn't real impressed.

From a respected dealer let me try to shed some light on the situation:
The reason behind the delay getting the RS 1.0 to the dealers is due to the port having to install all the aftermarket pieces at Port. It take 6 hours for each vehicle.
The RS1.0 comes bare bones from the factory, save for the Hot Lava Color. At Port they have to install all the RS1.0 parts (body kit, spoiler, springs, interior pieces, plaques, etc.) This is coming right on the heals of the xB and tC Release Series where they had to do the exact same.
Put this on top of all the other port installed options on the Toyota lines.
So, if you can......be as patient as possible......it is definitely worth the wait. This is the first Release Series in a long time that is absolutely breathtaking. There are a lot of people after this car that can't get one because most have been ordered. You are going to have 1 of 2,000!!!
