Default Best Cheap Mod under $50?

I recently purchased a mg xD and I love it. It replaced a Jeep Grand Cherokee, so I'm saving tons in gas.

What is the best mod (performance, looks, otherwise...) for the xD under $50? Any ideas? I didn't get any extras, so it's pure stock.

Can't remember the exact cost cuz I used some old spectre parts I had laying around but you could always take the stock intake completely out and make a custom CAI. Should cost somewhere around $50. Gives the car some better breathing by sucking air out of the driver side fender in front of the wheel well. You'd have to replace the little square cover with a mesh job or something similar so you get some airflow into the fender. Just did that mod myself today. Must say I am pleased with the results. Much better than the stock airbox that sucks air through three filters, on top of that it sucks air out of the engine bay.... Seems like my car is breathing easier, that and I had the stock exhaust (think the exhaust from cat- back is 1.7" stock) cut out from the cat-back and replaced with 2.25" and a Magnaflow. The exhaust job was $120 for the new pipe/installation and $150 for the muffler I bought myself, but you probably don't want to spend that much.

save it towards the purchase of a more expensive mod, like the NST short shift kit, or tinting your windows.

Save that $50 and put it towards something you'll appreciate more than what you can get for $50.

Almost immediately, I added OEM floormats, windshield visor, and rear bumper protector. Each was < $50 but had to shop around to find floormats for that.

Many people don't wax their cars any more and a number of dealerships indicate it's no longer necessary. Other than regular oil changes, I think waxing twice per year is the best thing you can do for your car!

if its a manual go with the redline fluid and you'll still have enough for the broadway mirror.....

I can't believe dealers would say that... I guess the things they'll do to get the money for the paint restoration that'll be needed down the road.

+1 for waxing your car at least twice a year.

a bigger question is what are you looking for out of your car? if performance, 50 will buy you exactly what you pay for. and 50 isnt much at all... if youre going for a car that you feel is show worthy, 50 can buy an abundance of things, from lights, to shift *****. its all up to you. i strongly recommend saving up..rushing into things can cost you more in the end than you may think
