Question Buying a xD. Looking for pictures of it in Black Currant Metallic.

I plan to buy a xD very soon, but I'm trying to decide between Black and Black Currant Metallic. The closest dealership with one is ~100 miles away. The only picture I can find of the color is on the Scion website. I'm looking for a "real world" picture of the car in the color though.

Can anyone help me out? Does anyone here have the car in that color?

Just do a quick search of "picture" and you're bound to come up with threads of people's xDs that are in that color. It might be hard since that color is only on the '10 model :/ but good luck

Funny someone should ask for pics, cuz i took these a week or so ago and never posted them. never saw a purple xD before and know how everyone wishes they offered purple like the euro urban cruiser (though i'm not sure this is the same thing). Anyways, i looked at the sticker and noticed the color was black currant metallic, so here ya go.....xD, now available in grape!

^^^Yep, first time I have seen this color...Did not know they added a new color for 2010...Looks a little like the Blackberry Crush Metallic as stated above...Maybe a little more purplish but could be the lighting...

The paint flaked off the hood into my hand after hand washing the car with only water and using a Micro Fiber Towel to dry, my 2007 Honda Ridgeline RTL Dark Cherry Pearl looked new when I sold the vehicle to a Doctor in VA Beach and I hand washed it all the time with no problem and I drive the car the same way I did the truck, it appears to me that anything that barely taps the vehicle will damage the paint job which tells me its poor quality, even DEFECTIVE and should be RECALLED as their are numerous complaints about the paint job and its inability to withstand normal driving conditions, the car is not even two months old, under 800 miles and the car had damage when we bought it.

Me and my wife went to Hampton Roads Sunroofs to see about an install as the guy applied a little pressure to the roof with the palm of his hand it created a small dent, WTF??? Don't get me wrong the car is fun to drive however the paint is poor Quality/DEFECTIVE and it appears the sheet metal is thin as HELL and dents too easy.

F.Y.I - I owned alot of new cars and NEVER had a problem such as this... Scion 1-866-707-2466 Case NO#0910137251I made several complaints, I paid almost $20K in CASH after adding additional accessories, its very sad that SCION doesn't take the time and effort to use Quality paint, it's always about the bottom line$$$$

I will admit that the Scion paint has always been a little on the "thin" side...Since this is my second Scion I have owned, they both have had the same issue with an usual amount of rock chips...Wish I would have invested in a clear bra for the front when I first purchased the car but oh well...As far as paint just flaking off in my hand, that has never happened...I also have ZERO dents from any of the road debris that have hit my vehicle...

So moral of the story, yes Scion is a little cheap when it comes to the paint and clear coat issue...If it concerns you, invest $500-600 on a clear bra protective film for the high impact areas and you should be good to go...

KitsuneZero,
The Black Sand Pearl is sweet however the paint is DEFECTIVE...If you decide to purchase make sure you have a shop in mind to add a good Quality clear coat...
