I just bought a 2008 Scion xD and extremely happy with my purchase. Looked all over Google and from what I can gather this website is the best place to ask.

Three beeps, random, can't replicate... doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Any ideas?

 

Through the speakers, or from the dash? Any odd lights on the dash? Hmmm...

 

through the dash. No lights either.

 

Here are my guesses in order:

- a very sensitive parking brake (try slightly pulling it while driving.)
- weak battery in the key fob
- weak battery in the car
- try moving your dash dimmer switch and see if it goes away.
- if you put a bag or something slightly heavy on the passenger seat, it may be confusing the airbag sensor
