Tried putting my car in park today and couldn't get it past reverse. Luckily I could put it in neutral to push my car out of where I was parked. Can still put it in drive and the lower gears (it's an automatic). Having to park uphill or somewhere I know I can drive straight out of, but I'm having to leave my car in neutral with the ebrake on and keys in the ignition since I can't get in park. Someone mentioned it might be a park lockout mechanism that is faulty but I'm not finding anything via internet about this problem. Any thoughts are welcome!
