^^ Good HIDs are still pricey, around $200 or so. That is an expensive bulb to use in a housing that can't utilize it properly. :?

Yes, they're actually affordable now! But, are they just the low beam HID, or Hi/lo's? the duals will be a bit more expensive, but still nowhere near that $400 mark from a few years ago...

I suppose if the HID are so bright, you don't really need the hi-beams, but I live in a semi-rural area where I travel on back roads to get most anywhere, so I like to have as much light as possible at night. I've always added a set of driving lights (not fogs) on every car I own, to supplement the stock hi-beams... Gotta be able to see all those dang deer before they see my front bumper, lol!

I've never even ridden in a car that has HIDs so I'd really like to know how much brighter they really are, I'm sure that would be a priority mod for me if they work really well!

Yeah a buddy of mine is a direct manufacture wholeseller and he sponsored our club, he is going to hook-up any Scion owner that we send his way...$135 FREE SHIPPING for the low beam only, but he said $199 FREE SHIPPING for hi/lo type...but you have to let him now that Alpha Sqaud sent you or you will pay retail price for them! They have 3K, 6K, 9K & 12K...3K is $15 extra, but yeah these are great prices and they are the Ultra Slim Ballast HIDs too, let me have him send me a picture for you all to see and I will post it up in a little bit. If you want the contact info for the HIDs let me know!

Like I said... oy! Nice Ballasts...

Hey, I would love to get a set of those in duals, but unfortunately I'm gonna have to save up some money or sell some more of my home audio equipment I'm unloading on eBay to get the $$ for that... I just purchased new wheels and tires, a spoiler, and my body graphics, so I overspent just a tad for this month, haha...! If your buddy can still offer that deal in a month or two, I'd be very interested...

Is the 3K the bright white or more yellow? I know 6k is going towards blue...

Finally, can someone help me out on this one - I notice on the stock xD headlights, there is a very sharp termination line where the light from the lamps is cutoff at the top of the illumination pattern - yet I have seen a few people posting on here that say they want to put a set of "eyelids" on after they install HIDs - what exactly are they referring to, and is that something that is necessary if HIDs are installed because of the brightness or glare? Do you lose that sharp illumination line with the HIDs, and blind oncoming traffic or something? Forgive me, just am not familiar with that term... :?

I was also wondering if somehow the sharp cut-off was kept in the xD, if you put HIDs in.

The lighting is excellent with the HIDs in the headlights...I just had to adjust the leadlights down so that I stopped blinding everyone infront of me, but this will be a great purchase!
