Default Headlight auto turn on/off

Hi, everyone!
I bought my red XD 10 days ago.
It's my first car...!!!
Anyway, I have a question about a headlight.
Do I have to turn on the headlight when I drive and turn off it every time?
I forgot to turn off it today, and turned off after 4 hours later.
It bothers me.
If someone knows, please tell me.
Bye~!!

Default headlights off

salesman told me that they would go off automatically but left mine on for 1/2 hour today and they never went off.

I need daytime running lights or automatic lights off as I park on 10th floor of a twisting parking garage and need to to be visable but forget to turn them off when I hit the road

check your owner's manual, alot of cars these days are starting to come with auto OFF headlights. which mean they turn off on their own.

on the tc, if you turn off the car, pull the keys out, and open the door, the headlights will turn off immediately. i don' t know if the xd does this, but it might.

If you disconnected the door switch like I did I think that what triggers the auto off of the headlights. Mine don't turn off or alarm because of me disconnecting the switch.

I think our xD's don't auto off and on with the head lights... even the 09's my sis just got a silver one and the first day she brought it home she forgot to turn off the lights and it was one for over an hour till she came back home to turn it off.

The xD does not have auto-off headlights. There is only a warning tone to tell you that you left them off when you remove the key from the ignition and open the drivers door. The tC does have auto-off headlights, so you need to make sure on the xD they are off before you walk away.

Yeah, wifes truck has an auto setting on the headlight switch, they turn on when you start the truck and off when you turn off the key, very nice option, wish the D had that.

Well, given that headlights can probably be programmed to turn off automatically via 3 lines of code in the car's electronics, it might not be too much to ask for.

eh, just remember to turn them on and off. I don't believe in auto headlites. don't see any reason to need a car to do it for you. I think it should be rather obvious as to when you need the lites on or off. and now there is this technology for auto hi-beams I heard about. wth for? not meaning to offend anyone, but...

My $16k corolla had auto headlights. I miss them, but I wish there had been a manual selector - I am not a big fan of daytime running lights.

My old crappy 1981 Subaru's headlights turned off and on with the Key if you left them in the on postion (headlight switch). Do not know why they just did not wire them on a switched circuit
