Default Key failure?

I've had my xD for a month now, and love it. The only problem? The key, half the time, isn't recognized by the ignition!
Every time I get in the car I pray that it will start with one turn of the key. But 90% of the time it doesn't, and some times I'm sitting there turning and turning the damn thing, no response from the engine whatsoever. Then magically it will start.. what's the problem?
My parents had the same problem with their cars just after getting them, a 2007 Saab and 2008 Saturn... they had to bring it in to the dealership and have some electrical thing replaced.... IT'S A ____IN KEY...what is electrical about it??

Uhm, I don think your problem is the actual key. as far as i know our keys arent chipped. Unless im wrong you may be looking at other ignition / electrical issues

Is it auto or manual?

If it has a chip, and the car isnt recognizing it then the engine will just keep turning over. Big question: Auto or Manual?
