Well its about darn time I started up a hello intro thread for myself. I wanted to wait til i could post some decent pics of my ride, and here they are.

A bit about me: my name is Tim, i'm 27 years old, married, 3 kids, and a middle school technology teacher (my job pwns btw), and have been DYING to get my hands on a scion since i first saw them waaaay back when. This xD is my first Scion AND my first NEW car ever. I did own a 91 celica GT a few years back and have loved the toyota product ever since.

These pics were taken at hamburg beach, about 8 miles south of Buffalo NY, my hometown. It was a great clear night so i grabbed my tripod and my digital camera and snapped these off in about an hour. Enjoy!








OOOOOhhhh scary. I used my digcam's night setting, and it was an 8 second exposure, so i clicked it,let it flash, then ran over to the car, stood, waited, boom, cool shot.


That is the city of Buffalo and Fort Erie Canada (to the far left) in the background. The row of red lights you see are our brand new electric wind generators. SO COOL.

when you get the ride?

 

Picked it up like the second week in august.

I already have about 2600miles on it. I commute about 50 miles per day to work during the week, and then about another 50 or so miles on the weekend. So during the school year i put on about 300 miles/week on average. Its probably more though cuz a full tank wont get me from mon to mon. for example. thank God its all highway miles.

very nice shoot. use anything special in the camera like some kind of star filter? the lights kinda look that way.

 

If it was from West Herr in Orchard Park, very possible! I know they got two more after i bought mine (i bought the first one they got). I have only seen one other around in the area personally. A woman ina hot lava everyday on the 990expressway goes in the opposite direction as me at 4:30 like clockwork. My wife said she saw an OLD LADY driving one by the mall near our house twice. (also a hot lava). GO GRANNY!

no, no filter on the camera, just my polaroid i832(?). I took all of the pictures at 8MP and then used photoshop and the 'save for web' option to optomize them for posting here. The camrea has always taken really excellet quality photos, too bad polaroid put it in a crap housing/case. its been freakin falling apart for 2 years now.

I'm planning to make a couple high-res wallpapers from the pics above. What are the most common resolutions for wallpaper that would be universally accapted?
