Default New Owner!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to say howdy from Southern California! I bought a blue XD last weekend and have REALLY been enjoying it. What a fun little car!

I cannot get over how much car you get for the money. My favorite thing so far is the ride height. It feelsl ike I am driving a HUGE SUV judging by my eye level when behind the wheel. That illusion fades when I step out and look at the car. Very cool.

I have been daily driving a 2006 Lotus Elise for the past two years and am grateful for the comfort and amenities the XD offers. This is going to be a fun car to mod!

Have fun and happy motoring!

Sort of - I kept the Lotus. I now daily drive the XD and drive the Lotus on some Friday's and weekends. Two years of commuting in a race car will make you crave some comforts! I absolutely ADORE the Elise. I really like the XD.

It is definitely an amazing car to drive. There is nothing like it short of a full fledged exotic. I am not lucky enough to be able to afford a Ferrari or Lambo yet. But am extremely grateful that I get the joy of driving one of the purist, no-frills sports cars being manufactured today....

I was thinking about getting an Elise as a weekend car (actually wanted it as a daily driver, but after the first test drive I understood that it's not going to happen). Elise was the first car that required almost a full minute to get in

Maybe one day I'll get one, if I can convince myself that I need a $35K toy.

I'd definitely rent one for a weekend for $300-400...

Where in SoCal are you located? It would be nice to see a blue xD up close for once I saw one a couple months back on the freeway but it was really far up ahead.

I am in the Pasadena Area. Would certainly be happy to do a get together of some sort. Holidays might make that tough but we can put something together if we really try!

If that doesn't work out, there were LOTS of blue ones at the SCION dealership in El Monte.

I will say that when I saw the blue in photos I was not impressed. I went to the dealer thinking I would buy a white one or the dark grey one. When I saw th eblue I got very excited...so that's what I pikced!

HAHA Zoltiz!
Getting in and out of the Elise is definitely a challenge! I remember when I first got the car I HATED getting out of it! I would do anything not to get out...haha! These days it is very simple as I am quite used to it. The funny thing is if you put me in the passenger seat...right back to square one! You never forget you are in a Lotus cause you remember that you have to get out at some point! HAHA!

Don't know about sports cars, but I do know that you do get a lot for your money with Scion.

First drive with my parents went as follows:
ME:"Check out my steering wheel audio controls."
DAD:"How much was it? 20k?"
ME:"Nooooo...."
DAD:"25k?"
ME:"Nooooo......"
DAD:"more?!"
ME: "Try 15,9!" giggle, giggle
DAD:"(gulp)"
MOM:"See, we should have test driven that xA I liked."

They own a Cadillac CTS, the beast. Paid $40k for it. It has steering wheel audio controls too.
