Parked xD rolls backwards down driveway
Just got a call from a friend who's girlfriend parked in his driveway in her 4 month old xD with the handbrake set and in gear. Apparently it rolled backwards down the driveway through a chain at the entrance and across the street into a utility pole smashing the the back end. Now this driveway is not steep enough to let my xB roll if in neutral with the brake off so I have a feeling she didn't lock it and someone pushed it. Anyone hear of parking brake problems?
Thanks.
UpDate: Looks like it was locked so the brake didn't hold and looks like VVT engines turn freely backwards and can't hold for long on a little hill once the cylinder compression leaks past the rings.
Thanks.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I've been parking on a hill for over 4 years now without incident. You always pull the e-brake all the way up, leave it in gear, and cut the wheel towards the curb.

xD rolls in gear backwards
Yeah like she doesn't have enough stress in her life right now - there is no curb in the driveway however so turning the wheel doesn't work in her case but if she had pulled in where it was more level it would not roll. I always find that putting the handbrake on while stepping on the brake pedal works much better too on my xB.
