Prices go up?
I want to buy a Scion xD and the dealership is telling me its about 17k without paying for fees such as liscence registration. The website says 16k... am I missing something here? Scion xD's are suppose to be pure price, right?
I just went and test drove this one that I called and ofund far away from me. Man was it a ncie little car! Back seat felt uncomfy based on driving, but we were on a bumpy road. But driving, I wouldn't tell. I'll be driving so I don't care. This thing was loaded, elather seats, upgraded stereo, tinted windows, all the jazz. But it had 7k miles on it. I am hoping I can get it down to a regular price for a basic new one, if so, I'd buy it. It is NICE. Even had a spoiler end on it that makes it look SO MUCH BETTER!
Ah, the one I was talking about earlier I don't know if it had any mods on it... We went to a different one because it had the 7k on it and it was silver (i wanted silver, the other one was red). I wonder how much they will offer me... or if they will offer me. Should I only consider it if it's 1k over... meaning 17k vs 16k?
The one I am talking about has green sticker outlined stripes (stripes black) and green outlined wheels, tinted windows, leather seats, upgraded stereo... and I think mats... maybe other mods to it... but if they offered me 17k for the car, or 16k... with it already have 7k miles on it... should I take that over the basic?
What would be really nice is if we can trade in our toyota van for 7k, what it is worth, and just pay 10k in loan. I wouldn't take money out of my savings for it then, this way I can earn credit. Also friend is buying truck so I don't have that 3k on hand right now.

Just order a brand new one for cheaper, you'll get the color you want and no one touched it. You'll also get a lower financing rate if you go that route. It would be approx 17 total with tax etc if you got a manual one.
So... you guys would or would not suggest taking this deal if it is offered:
This silver Scion xd with tinted windows, green flames and black wheels, outlined green, black leather seats, upgraded stereo and sound system, and thats all the modifiers I remember... if it were offered to me even though it at 7000 miles on it, for a regular basic price (16k)... should I take it? Oh yeah, spoiler end on it too.

In my opinion, why finance someone elses modifications? youll be spending less in the long run modifying it yourself.
Nevermind the dealer prolly took off a lot of value for that stuff from the person that sold it to them. I would talk the price down if you really wanted to go for it cause they'd be making a lot of money off you.

Looks like I am waiting for a new one. They wanted 21k or 22k or something for it. They said they added 9k worth of stuff to it... so 16k plus 9k= 25k and they come down 2-3k... yeah for a used car price. Way to go. Nah. I will just wait for a new one. I wonder though how much it will be to add a spoiler end to it. Or lights in the bottom.
Alright, so here is what I want to do to my scion...
I did the build your own, great. (used IE, I use firefox by default). I want to add this to the basic package of an automatic:
Pioneer Premium Audio System
4-n-1 light kit with cup holder
Rear Spoiler
Only other one I was considering is the Rear Bumper Protector... worth it?
Anyway, this should up the price 1073 without bumper. Making a total of... 17,043

Don't buy any of the accessories from the dealership. They really overprice you. Though it is nice to get them financed and just rolled in to the car payment. What most (if they read this site first) do is actually go to TRD Sparks and get the parts through them. Cheaper and less of a hassle.
I see no point in getting the light kit because you can find cheaper alternatives elsewhere. When I went to United back in May, a goodie from the swag bag was the bumper protector, which I like much more than the clear protector I had.
For the sound system, there are better ones for the same price out there. Take a look at Crutchfield at their navi units or just regular units to see if you can find something the same price just with better features

Oh go ahead and get the spoiler through the dealer because it'll be under warranty. Basically anything that is considered an accessory (ie. floor mats, that light kit, premium audio system, etc.) you should get elsewhere. The dealers make money on the accessories so thats why they usually want you to go for those while you're still getting the car
Bumper? The car comes with a bumper
I would hold off on the bumper protector and just get it, the lights and floor mats from TRD Sparks. Unless if you don't have that kind of money to spend right now on those accessories.
