Default Question about A-Pillar or dashboard rattles/creeks

Hi . . New to the forum and presently deciding between the '08 XB or XD. The '08 XB forum on this site is plagued with many many hits re: major complaints about A-pillar creeks and/or dashboard rattles - which Scion is not acknowledging yet. It is single handedly disuading me from purchasing the X/B. My question to the owners of XDs: Any rattles, creeks from anywhere??? Any defects or flaws noted yet? All help will be greatly appreciated. As a footnote, I think there's a bit more value in the box, especially when one considers the standard feature of traction. However, the XD does have the safety head restraint feature, a rarity on vehicles in this price range. That probably is as important as the traction feature, especially in urban driving? Thanks . . .Peter

I've noticed some rattling under the dash - its low but it can be annoying. There also is some noise from the driver door from the radio, sounds like little pops.

granted these are only minor issues for me, I'll probably look into fixing then once I start modding my interior.

The only dash rattle I had was from the driver-side storage cubby and the stuff that I put in it. After I covered the insides of the cubby in felt the rattles went away.

But I do get creaks in random places - nothing constant or overly annoying, but we'll see in couple of months when it gets colder.

I have the same exact thing except it's on both the driver side and passenger side door, driver side is worst though, I found if you push against the door it goes away but comes back when you stop pushing. Drives me nuts, taking it to the dealer on Monday to have them look at it but am sure they won't be able to do anything bout it, may just have to live with it.

Let me know if they fix it, I wouldn't mind having mine taken care of.

Yea actually I hear some creaking/rattling now and then in my car. It too sounds like its coming from the glove box though not sure.

Actually I've noticed that when I plug my iPod in the speakers become scratchy, but radio & satellite they're fine. I know the songs on my iPod are fine in quality and the dealer didn't hear anything (I doubt they checked..).

My xD is rattle free except for when playing the stereo the driver & passenger door had "ticking" type noise unless you pressed on it. I took the door panel off 4 times and finally figured out what it was. The window weatherstrip attached to the top of the door panel is held in by 7 metal tabs, if you un-bend them, take the window weatherstrip off, apply foam tape, then reinstall...The ticking is gone! =-) No noise from the doors now. Other than that, I get a slight buzz noise from around the radio when I get to about 2500 rpm, but if I push on the "waterfall" it goes away. Just needs some foam tape and I'm good.
