Default Scion xD vs. Mini Clubman

I just read about the Clubman debut on MyRide.com
http://www.myride.com/research/edito...itorialId=3386
I thought it was pretty tight, but I'd probably still stick with the xD

The mini will offer a much, much more refined ride and overall much greater experience. But being a mini, it will brake down often and be very expensive to repair. The mini will be great for the VW fans because they are use to cool cars that brake down constantly. Also the trustfund babies who do not to pay bills will enjoy the mini until the next "thing" comes along.

Wow SHU you're awfully sour.

I've sat in a current Mini and its not that roomy, and I doubt that Clubman will have more room if it actually becomes a produced car. Actually I've driven past Mini owners and they stare at my car like they wish they had gotten that instead of their small arsed Cooper ;)

I love the Mini Cooper, but the Clubman is ugly as sin. I know its a retro throwback, but why try and supersize a car called "Mini." The suicide and swing arm doors are cool, but the body lines and flow of the vehicle are totally thrown off by the added bulk. Ive drove Mini Coopers and love the interior volume, it is perfect for 1-2 people. I dont think the Clubman has the increased volume to comfortable fit 4 people. Another problem I have with the Clubman design is the seat belt anchor points for the rear. The belts are anchored to the doors and it looks like a trip wire just waiting to cause passengers to bust their face on the new upholstery.

So my vote is for the xD, a car designed to comfortable hold 4 people. The xD has a lot of styling potential. Lowered, wheels, and the 5axis lip kit make a world of difference on this car.

i envy the performance of a mini on such a small car, but i can't get past the interior. it looks like crap!! the speedo is the size of my ___. im not blind!!

Not sour ChelsDS just experienced with VWs and minis. They both are nice looking and riding cars but, they both are very poorly made as far as reliablity goes. You will spend a lot of time at the respective dealers getting them fixed. Often they are broke down more than they are on the road. Sad but true. Stick with honda or toyota.
