so I been thinking and need answers

I like my scion but I want to get back to volvo. sounds like I want to get a gramma's car lol. But I still gots 10k left on the xd. My question is. What do you think is the value if I returned it? or is it possible to transfer my papers to another person to take over payments? btw its an 09.

ack154 02-26-2010 01:23 PM

Well you can't "return it" ... and you wouldn't really "transfer papers" ... you would need to sell it or trade it in.

xD_kidd91 02-26-2010 01:26 PM

trade it back in is what i meant

xDTool 02-26-2010 01:40 PM

Trade in Value

Private Sale Value

Private sale is hard with a car you dont have the title on. You'd want to get a copy of the title with the lien to have on hand for sale, then theyd have to pay you, or youd have to up front the money to pay off the car so you could apply for the title, then once the title is in you could complete the sale of the vehicle. I remember when I got my first car we were able to transfer loan and "take over" payments, but from what I understand, most banks wont do that anymore.

Trade in is your best bet if youre not upside down on your loan, which it appears you are not. Just remember that if it turns out you ARE upside down, most places will not finance you into an older used vehicle because its hard to get banks to loan over the value of an older used vehicle.

thanks for the quotes. as long as i dont owe i guess im fine and the car im trying to get is a volvo s60R but if the situation is bad then it prolly wont be worth it. thanks for the help

xD_kidd91 02-26-2010 01:48 PM

btw i wld get around 12k. cause i only have 11,*** miles on it

xDTool 02-26-2010 02:07 PM

Good deal, I used 20,000 as a generic estimate for an ~1 year old car. having half of that mileage definitly helps.

so basically what I learned was that toyota wont take your car unless you get another car from them. But carmax can purchase it. So I went to them and I got less then what I still owe. They lower value on aftermarket parts. Unfortunately I dont have the stock parts. so ima put some thought into this..

TheQuietThings 02-26-2010 06:16 PM

I say keep the xD, get a turbo fabbed for it, and be one of a kind :-)

It would be sad to see the D go, but if you decide to take that route I may be interested in swapping some stock parts + cash for some aftermarket parts depending on what you have ;)

yea I would feel bad letting it go. dont make me feel worse lol. but my dream car is the volvo s60R. 300hp 295tq turbo awd 6spd. and eddhead. I only gots exhaust, crank pulley, eyelids (never installed) and tanabe springs lol

eddhead88 02-26-2010 06:50 PM

Are you really 19? If so then you should keep the D, as you have the rest of your life to drive a volvo :rolling:

There, feel better? haha

(may be interested in crank pulley)

xD_kidd91 02-26-2010 07:00 PM

haha yea im 19. and thanks. funny how you still mentioned the crank pulley in smaller text size haha

xD_kidd91 02-26-2010 07:00 PM

i'll keep you in touch if I do

ChelsDS 02-28-2010 07:44 PM

Uhm, keep the xD and wait to get a higher horsepower car, you're only going to abuse it.

Zefoxe 02-28-2010 11:01 PM

if u were able to pay off 5g in one year on a 15g car u might as well pay it off and keep it as a beater, you'll only win the long run as ud have a reliable side car and an awesome credit score to finance another vehicle

xD_kidd91 02-28-2010 11:49 PM

5g + 3g down payment =/ .. But yea Ima stick with the xd and pay it off fast. and by then hopefully theres a turbo kit. I worked too much for it so I might as well keep it lol. thanks for the help guys
