Default Temp. Gauge

Hey SL,
I was wondring if there's any where to activate the temp gauge in our cars. The JDM/EDM models have, but why not us. Is it a program? Fuse?
Thanks, Angelo

the temperature gauge? you mean the outside temperature? or the coolant temperature?

if your car doesn't have it, it probably doesn't have the sensor to even read it, so i doubt toyota would delete it and save money by not installing a fuse.

Our cars do have a coolant temp sensor. As Ace83 mentioned, you can access it with a ScanGaugeII. As far as a display, all we have is the "cold engine" light that goes out at 125ºF IIRC.

If your talking about coolant/engine temp gauge, I would recommend picking up this from the classifieds https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=173921 ...This is a great deal and it does a ton of stuff...

Check out these outside temp gauges. I put one in my FJ and it came out looking stock. It had a really nice place to mount it, havent found a place as nice in the xD, at least without cutting a hole in something. Cost about $65 for the gauge and the sender unit I believe. The amber guage with a homemade tinted acrylic face matched the stock lighting almost perfectly.

You can see it in the right corner of this picture

^^^^^^

Nice !!

I was thinking the little round circle on the dash for the JDM push button start.

The only other temp gauge I was considering was this one:
