Default Thinking of selling the xD

So.. Had my xD for about a year now.. It's a great car.. very practical,
economical and almost fun to drive.. My biggest complaint is the lack of feedback in the steering.. I like driving my cars.. not just commuting.
Toyota made the steering feel too artificial.. No feedback and too twitchy at speed on the Hwy.
I test drove a 2011 VW GTI yesterday and really loved the smooth ride and the steering wheel feedback was all there.. After looking at the final numbers.. keeping the xD makes the most economical sense for sure..
but .. you only live once and I like experiencing different rides.
Yet there are many things about the xD that I really like and don't want to give up.. sigh.. Going to look at a one series BMW today.. but I already know that the value is not there.. The new BMW 1 series will now have a turbo 4-cyl engine.. If they price it right.. It would be a very fun car to own.. but I don't think I can justify it for a second car..

vw's are a blast until something goes wrong, then you'll be crying as you write that service check.

Good luck with whatever you decide. just sold my xD myself last week.

Not a huge fan right now of the VW. They can be buggy. The new jettas can cut out if you honk the horn.http://news.consumerreports.org/safe...rm-wiring.html
My sister had a Passat (newer) past 3 years, and they had trouble with theirs as well. They way she explained it was everything flickered in the car then the car cut out. They pulled over turned it off and on and it started right up.

I think with Scion's especially with the xD, its more of a base model than anything. It's not going to have any of the added luxuries included with the original purchase of the vehicle. I wish my xD didn't have as much road noise or the jerky steering either but I only paid 8k for my 08. All in all I'd have to say I love my car for transportation and am looking forward to running it into the ground in the next 5-10 years. It's going to be my main vehicle just based on Toyota's track record.

I do like the xD.. it's a great value and perfect for zipping around town, does everything well and reliably.. Great little car.. thats why I bought it..
I get bored and like to try new things.. I know from a financial aspect, keeping the xD is the way to go..

x2.

I used to drive VW's. That's why i bought a Toyota. Ridiculous maintenance and issues. But, if you have the cash to buy new and purchase the extended BTB warranty, they are a blast to drive and much more comfortable.

I too am thinking of selling mine. We have a baby due in August and two big dogs.. Even with a roof rack i am not sure we will all be able to fit. It has me thinking of euro wagons again... I will most likely go with Jap or American though... My 03 Passat stranded me too many times.
